I have a pretty sweet little chromebook that I'd like to use in the field for mapping.  My understanding is that the gps daemon isn't running under chromOS, so a USB gps dongle would not work.  I have seen and downloaded a few apps for my phone that are "gps over bluetooth" apps, which are supposed to let bluetooth enabled devices receive gps data via bluetooth.  IE, my phone provides gps data, and my chromebook (with the app running) receives.  But so far I haven't gotten this to work with two or three different apps I've tried.

Has anyone gotten this to work?

Not with that OS, but I've had good results with Holux GPS bluetooth units and WIndows.
