This is one of my favorite photos I've ever taken.  It was back when I was extremely into overclocking and this rig right here was one of the fastest AMD setups.. well, fastest PERIOD :P  It's a KT333 chipset I believe.

Another overclocking picture I absolutely love... again not super-pretty but it's the content of the picture :)  Again, this at the time was *the* fastest nforce2 board in the world.  Period :P

Click on either picture for a larger version.  The fungus looks much better in the larger format.  I just didn't want to screw up the screen size in this thread.

WOW !

That is an amazing picture!

Don't get me wrong - this thread is filled with incredible shots, but that one just blows me away.

I don't know what it is, but that one gets my vote too!

I took this on Tuesday at the site of the Cabanatuan POW/slave labor camp in the Philippines.  The man pictures is Chuck, a survivor of the Bataan Death March, POW comps at O'Donnell and Cabanatuan, as well as two Japanese Hell ships (one of which sank), and slave labor camp in Korea.  In this picture, he has found the name of a friend on the memorial to those who died in the camp.

Here's a couple I like. One of these days I'll get a Pentax *Ist and greatly improve my life

I got to fly that Sukhoi for a bit. Would have liked to take some pics looking up at the ground, but I was a bit busy at the time

Dunno what's up with the artifacts in the pic, I have a feeling I was getting low on juice by then.

I call it "Live tree of death"

taken with the same point and shoot camera as above.  I was hiking in Hawaii with my old girlfriend, a dreadfull bitch she was. I saw this tree and it really fit how my soul felt at the time, having no direction and being pulled in ways I didnt know or like. I ended up dumping her a few days later, but the tree remains as an icon, an example of what the elements and gravity(of a situation) can do with time.  I used photoshop to make it B&W.

Awesome legs.  Do you use any filters?  How do you decide on your exposure as far as over or under?

I need to get one, but the size on my wide angle, which I would like it for is 77mm.  The cost of the filters (of good quality) is so stinking high for someone of my limited money and photographic abilities that I haven't been able to do it yet.  Your photos are pushing me closer, that is certain!

I never take a photo without a circular polarizer. Its a must have.

I don't use them on every photo.  UV? sure.  Cirpol?  Maybe.

Try not to cut the corners and get a cheaper one. Images will look a little soft.
The glass in lenses and filters is more important than the camera bodies back in the film only days.

True dat....double true!

Now they are both outrageously expensive.

You can try finding a good one used.  Also on the Wide angle ones, you may have to get the ultra thin ones, which is of course 50% more $...On the other hand if you have 77 and 72mm you can get a 77 and a 77->72mm stepdown and use one on both lenses.  if you were so inclined.

Another fun image

I had to use a wide aperature to combat low light so DOF is rather shallow, but I still think it looks cool
