So I have a Sony DVD camcorder that is about 4-5 yrs old.  I tried to copy the files recorded on the mini DVD to my computer and now I can't find any software to play the files.

Do I have to have some kind of conversion?

Does anyone know what software Sony uses or what format?

thanks guys for any help!

VLC Player - it's free, and a proven player.  No adware, no nonsense.  Plays most file formats.

I don't guarantee it will help you, but it's sure worth a try.
