I just pre-ordered the game off of Amazon.com, and it says that it is supposed to be released March 20th. I heard something about a new announcement coming out about the game a few days ago, but never read anything.

Anyone know if thats the actual release date, or am I going to have to cry for another two months waiting for this one?

The first rule of 87 is that you do not talk about 87.

Guys at the local gamestop are now saying late June. I cancelled my pre order. Didn't feel like waiting that long for the damn game!

(And knowing Bethesda software, the game won't work on gen 1 360s.)

I wouldnt trust gamestop on any release date unless it was sitting on their shelves, and I hope they are wrong as usual for that one.

When this game comes, I will probably cut myself off from the outside world for a couple of weeks. I am quite certain that it will be game of the year, just looking at the screenshots and info allready availble for the game.

Well, I don't trust anything developers say either. All a bunch of liars they be

Gamespot says March 20.... so, perhaps this month.

Like I said, I hope it works fine on the 360. I had problems with the original on my XBOX (thompson drive problem)

Everything this studio touches turns to gold. I am looking forward to a whole new experience, rather than emulating one of their previous games.

I think Morrowind was probably the single greatest game I have every played, and the most worthwhile game (as far as purchasing goes). I will be dissappointed if Oblivion is just Morrowind in a new world, with prettier graphics. I would like to see a whole different story and style of gameplay. Bethesda has not dissappointed before, really looking forward to trying the new one out.
