Not a big deal for VR, since obviously you can't really see it. The main PITA is disabling it anytime you unplug it and re-plug it or open the software. |

Sitting at my computer desk with the F/A-18 red flag mission loading thumbing around on my phone while my pc takes an hour for the mission to load, with my silly track ir hat on. Haven’t played in a while. It will be interesting. I’ll probably be shot down again. Still fun

Has anyone tried a lower end VR set with DCS ? I see the Oculus Quest 2 is only $299. From what I've seen DCS is a whole new experience with VR and hotas

And yes, VR is game changing for the majority of simmers who try it. |

I can no longer play any 'pancake' games. If I'm gaming, it's in VR.
DCS in VR is awesome, it honestly terrifies me how well it tricks the brain. The other day I was fooling around and crashed when I wasn't expecting it. It struck me as a bizarrely weird feeling, knowing I 'should' be dead from that but aren't.

I've been flying the A-4 mod EFM closed alpha, and now the beta. What these devs have managed to do without access to the SDK, and for free, is incredible.
In fact, I'm not entirely convinced ED didn't slip them the SDK. |

That being said, I'm currently running a top 1% rig with HP reverb2 (best so far IMO), and I'm still chasing performance/decent visuals. But it is super immersive. But if you go for VR you also have to get some flight grade hand controllers too (pointcontrol) IMO. Quest2 is probably ok, but the riftS is probably better for DCS , just make sure you can run it (i.e. not the minimum), and you are forced to have fecesbook page/account for it to run. I basically got out of the fecesbook ecosystem as quick as I could after the rift (which was bought out by fecesbook). |

Updated BIOS, and now it works through the back USB 3.0 ports. Fired up DCS for a quick flight and wow! I will try more this evening after work.
