Yesterday was my 800th day in a row walking/running. I have started using a Rucksack to train for a race I have on Friday.

So far I've done about 25 miles with a 32 lb backpack.

Yesterday- 5.5 Miles
2022: 910.6 miles

I haven't been posting much, mostly because I'm slacking and trying to schedule time to get my left achilles checked out. I'm still walking 3'ish most days, but running is not a good idea. If I need medical corrective measures, I'm seriously running out of time before needing to start training for the next round of The Woodland's Marathon in March.

Anyway, all the walking lately puts me at 533.0 YTD.

Friday 8/5 I participated in a Ruck Race at the local Air Force base. I came in 4th out of 63 and I believe I was the first civilian to cross the finish line.

12.2 miles in 2 hours 39 minutes.

Taking it easy today and tomorrow ahead of a 5k Saturday morning.

The weather will be far from perfect but should be better than what I'm used to, so I'm a bit hopeful.

Go out on pace for 18:05 and either blow up or hold on for glory.

On 8/1 I made another 1 mile run. (200m sprints at the gym with a cooldown walk to finish the mile). Some underlying knee issues I've been having finally came to a head during those sprints. An MRI revealed what I feared, but also was welcome news to finally know what's going on. I have a torn medial meniscus. Rather than immediately have surgery I am going to put things off til mid October/early November timeframe. I have drew a moose tag in Colorado for the first week of October, and I am not going to risk missing that. The doctor said as long as I can tolerate the pain I can put off surgery. Looks like I'll be back by the end of the year at step zero, and ready for the 2023 challenge.

Sorry to hear that, but glad you found out what exactly it is and the most important part is that you have a plan to address it, recover, and get ready to kick ass for the 2023 challenge!  Hope everything goes well to keep you on plan!

Limping along here.  Haven’t had a 100 mi month since February.  Every time I get on track something comes up and I miss 3 days in a row.  Before I could power out 10-12 mi and make it up.  But lately haven’t been able to get more than 6 in at a time.  Probably need to cross train or something?
