Not wanting to get up and go, cutting runs short, etc. I have a group I can run with, but some are either doing longer runs than I am able to do well (and keep up with them) or short runs. Today: 4.20 / 746.45 I should hit 100 for the month. I'm still on track to break 1K for the year at my current rate. I'm just not motivated like last year. Hoping to break out of the funk, but my knees aren't as happy, either. We're getting a new GSD puppy in a few weeks. I'm looking forward to him being able to run with me. I really need a running buddy. All my friends think I'm weird. I've been in a similar funk. You're a little ahead of me, but we can get this! Keep pushing! @Cameronswmp9 Thanks for the encouragement. Some of you guys are killing it. Maybe next year we start a pool as to how many we'll see break 1K? I did break 100 for the month this morning after adding another 5.00 for a total of 797.12. At this pace, I'm still on track for the 1K mark by EOY. I've had 5 months of 100+ versus just 3 last year. But, I'm still making up for being offline due to surgery. Something else I've added to my spreadsheet -- calories burned. Using a conservative 135 cal per mile (yes, lots of variables can move that number) and 3500 calories per # of fat, I have kept from gaining over 30# of fat this year by running. My weight is pretty consistent; I like bacon and beer. I think it was when I told my wife, that she began to really appreciate the time I spend doing this. Last year was over 38# prevented. |

Marathon training was supposed to start this week, but going to work out the issue and Start it next week View Quote 0.56/741.91 "No run workout" this morning consisted of farmers carries with 2 cindy blocks with some other fun stuff added. Forearms are toast today. Looking at a timed run tomorrow and a longer run saturday to get some more miles in by EOM, and make the next 2 months a bit lighter load, but I know I have a long way to go. Im going to do it, but have to get my ass in gear to make it so. |

View Quote These guys here are an encouragement in itself. I don't classify myself as a runner, but making strides to change that and push myself differently and harder. With big stuff coming next year I need to do more running and keep it going. A spreadsheet is a great idea, I have not thought about that! based on my quick math Im at 29 lbs, so thats great! I need to clean up my diet and work on losing some, which will make the runs easier on my joints and, well, just easier in general. I have gained about 10 lbs in the last couple of months, some of that good weight, but want to drop about 40 more lbs. I have lost up to 70, but slowly crept back up some. |

Yeah, these threads have been very encouraging. Keep up the great work! I started running (very little at first) along with the spreadsheet when I started a new job in July of 2015. It has been incredibly motivating to see my increase in distances. FWIW, I named the spreadsheet "flab.xlsx" for a reason. Here's the summary. Attached File |

Last run for October. A whole month without using the treadmill. :) Treadmill runs will start Sunday. |

Just finished a really cold feeling morning run. The weather report says it's 25*, but when it was 50*+ last week at this time- it feels worse. The icy leaves on the road and coating of snow on the grass add to the experience.
ETA- I should probably add the mileage. 5/550.25 |

After 3 weeks or so easy (usually no more than 3 miles) I'm trying to build up the daily mileage again. |

Today started, hopefully, nothing less than a 10k. Need to build up to running 10+ miles per day again since the weather is a lot cooler and I'll have more time for running. Looks like you'll hit 3k miles too! Nice!! |

Even with my super-low mileage (for me) weeks I think I should even beat last year's mileage (3,172). I know it'll come back, but my legs protesting at running 6 miles is a touch discouraging knowing that a couple months ago I was knocking out 10-11 per day without issue. |
