I took a rest day yesterday. I have increased my mileage significantly since October. October - 44 miles November - 61 miles December - 94 miles January - On pace for well over 120. Things are coming together after a rough couple of years. |

I’m looking forward to posting my treadmill runs after getting a Forerunner 645 for Xmas last year. I’m a Garmin fanboy, but their footpod fucking sucked. My new job includes a gym at the office which is awesome. So 5ks on the clock are now a thing. I’ve been running since 2008 when my ex-wife expressed concern I’d joined “the church of running” which was pretty accurate. 1,000 miles is not much of a question because I’m pretty compulsive about this, but an arfcom race would be sweet.

IN! 0.0 / 1000.0 so far. I logged 995.15 last year, but it wasn't all running. I would log hikes, long walks with my better half, etc. I know that I missed some miles, so reality was well over 1K for the year. I'm going to minimize logging the "extraneous" miles and use this primarily as a running goal. I am scheduled for the Woodlands Marathon in March. A friend has signed up for the Colorado Springs half in September. I may join him and take my wife on a mini-vacation. Going from running all flatland at near-sea-level to Colorado Springs would be a challenge. Strava -- I was using it until it logged two runs in a row with inaccurate data. Examples include 17.48 miles with a 3:47/mi pace (reality was 8.5 miles). The other was 5.0 miles with 4:17 pace, including one in 43 seconds. The other apps which use the GPS are showing no issues. I've reverted to using MapMyRun. Has anyone else seen similar issues? Know how to fix them? I really would prefer to stay on Strava. I logged some runs in there in Israel and would prefer to stay on one app. View Quote 18.12 (roads) / 18.12 1/6/20 5.05 (treadmill) / 23.17 On Friday, 1/3 I tried Strava, and it jacked up a simple 1 mile hike. Saturday for the long run, I had Strava and MapMyRun both going. Strava data agreed 100% with MapMyRun. Battery life on my phone was not a problem. |

When I put my shoes on today I found the arch-support insoles in the wrong shoes and suddenly realized why my feet hurt yesterday. I ran four miles with the wrong inserts in my shoes |

I'm sticking with slower pace on the elliptical over the next week, then a few days off before my ultra on the 18th. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be on a team for a 1 mile relay marathon, so speed training is up next. It's nice to change things up a bit from the standard running routine. |

Saturday doesn't look fun. By the forecast I'll either be running 20 miles in 20° (and falling) temps with a 20-25mph N wind and snow, or I'll have the same miles of the treadmill. |

I guess I'll run on the treadmill except for a few photo ops of me curled up in the fetal position in the snow, and maybe a pic of me running in insulated coveralls. I'm not a big fan of cold, but at least the resort has a sports massage. Maybe I'll do that instead. |

I had a couple big unintentional days off due to some work stuff. I should be back on track by the end of the weekend. |

I'd like to make 1,000 miles this year. Started running agsin last year when the kids went back to school. Finished the year with 450 miles.
Today's run was 6/38.2. |

Very cold, very windy, and a little snow. Dressed well enough that the temperature wasn't a problem, but running into the wind sucked. Still better option-in than 20 on a treadmill. |

I went to my gym instead of using the treadmill at home. I'm not as brave/tough as Commander_Keen; I didn't want to challenge the wind and chilly weather. |

Bleh. Felt plodding and slow on my easiest run of the week. |

Sucks being sick for a few days...But, I'm back. :) |

No miles yesterday, or the rest of the week. It's just stretching, rolling, and getting ready for 50 miles Saturday.
