I did, and figuring out all it can do looks fun! What is going to be more accurate, Garmin watch or the treadmill? There is a .6 mile difference from watch to treadmill. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
Quoted: Looks like you got it figured out. Welcome aboard! What is going to be more accurate, Garmin watch or the treadmill? There is a .6 mile difference from watch to treadmill. What watch do you have? Calibrating the watch to the treadmill is probably about the best you can do. |

Finally got up in the morning. Things should get easier once the antibiotics are out of my system. Breathing is a bit tough, and painful - my ribs are still sore from my last couple coughing fits - a week ago, now. |

Quoted: Honestly, neither is probably accurate to the actual distance. I use a Stryd footpod for distance, which does really well. What watch do you have? Calibrating the watch to the treadmill is probably about the best you can do. View Quote I logged it on "run indoor", Because I imagine that "run" would be more accurate running GPS than technically running in place. I'd be glad to take a 9.5 minute mile at this point, but I'm just not there |

I'm taking today off of running.
Yesterday I did 4.5 which puts me at 24.5 for the year. |

Quoted: It's a Forerunner 235. I just got it yesterday, so I haven't figured out the strides and all of that. I logged it on "run indoor", Because I imagine that "run" would be more accurate running GPS than technically running in place. I'd be glad to take a 9.5 minute mile at this point, but I'm just not there View Quote You logged it correctly, as well. Using an "indoor" running mode turns off GPS and instead uses the built-in accelerometers to measure distance (assuming you don't use a footpod). Just don't use your watch hand to hold a rail or get a drink - if the watch stops swinging with your running motion it thinks you've stopped running as well. |

Quoted: The FR235 is a really good watch, I know a lot of people using it. You logged it correctly, as well. 2.5/20.31 I think that was happening for some, and intervals as well. I've read that the watch can't keep up sometimes, with speed/cadence and heart rate. I watched it better today and it was a lot closer, less than .1 difference. View Quote |

The antibiotics are finally out of my system, and what a difference it makes! My HR has come back down to what it should be given my fitness and run effort. |

Including a 24:51 5K*. *Which is not a brag, it's a dig at myself. That's 8:01 per mile. That's like one stride too slow for an 8:00/mi pace. |

Saturday I ran almost 7 miles. 1.5 warmup and 5.3 hard. I set a 10k pr even with the warm up mile, and had I pushed for one more mile I could have been right at 50:00. I'm getting faster and faster. Feels good. |
