I bought the 1 and 2. I can close the #2 a couple time when I am fresh.

I forget what the highest # is, but I don't see how a normal human could close any of the higher ones.

Same as you, 2s my limit.

The knurling is super sharp. After one day of using them I had to give it a rest. I think im wearing a work glove to practice with them.

I'm still 1/8" from closing my #1

I haven't messed with grippers in awhile. I was getting darn close to closing the #2.

I have the T, 1, 2 and 3.

The 3 is a novelty.

I can close the 2, but I have to position it in my hand, just so.

Nope. No CoC.

I prefer the 1-and-done Ivanko Super Gripper.

Ivanko Super Gripper

Adjustable in small increments from 45lbs to 345lbs (by removing 1 spring, you can drop the resistance even lower for rehab use. If you're some insane monster, you can get extra springs for even more resistance than 345lbs).

I definitely prefer the more even closing vs the CoC type small on one end, big on the other end designs.

I have the 1 and the 1.5.

I can get both with my right hand any given day, but I struggle with the 1 on my left hand.

I keep them in my cars for when I'm stuck in traffic or car pool.

I'm too cheap. I have some knock offs called heavy grips off Amazon though. I use the light ones in my car in traffic and the heavier ones after farmers walks and or with some arm work.

I built up from being able to barely close the 0.5 to being able to do a bunch of reps on 1.5 and the 2.0 a couple of times. Have not made much progress getting more on the 2.0. Seems to have topped out there without changing something about the training.

I don't suppose anyone else here has got to try a hand dynanometer:

For my work's physical, I had to do the hand dyno.

IIRC, my right hand was 160 pounds.  my left hand was 145.

My girlfriend has a thing for my forearms so last Christmas she bought me some Captains of Crush knock offs.

The numbering system isn't the same.

And yes, the checkering or knurling is pretty intense.

Over at the Brian Enos forums, they are all about the CoC grippers.

A friend I had shot a couple of major matches with re-posted this on his facebook:

I think im going to start doing some pinch grip work on plates. At our gym they have a board hanging up high that has a board screwed to both sides that is about half inch thick so you can do pull ups or go down the board on finger strength. Never seen anyone do it but I would like to work up to it.

Deadlift.  Heavy dumbbell curls.  Pull-ups.

Better for grip.

Mostly disagree. The grip that I have was mostly built through deadlifting. I have pulled over 700 from the floor on several occasions. The DL grip is just a locking of the fingers not so much of a squeezing. DB curls, not so much. Fat bar yes. Pull ups, sort of.  All good exercises just not the best for grip.

The point is, You're better off building grip strength from functional exercise that require grip strength, rather than hand-squeezers.

Weighted pull-ups, DL, rack-pulls, Farmers walk,  fat grip curls, etc...

Or pound an anvil all day.

I've never met anyone who developed the strength to close the #3, by using hand squeezers as their primary exercise.

They are more a way to measure strength, than to develop strength.

But I can’t do any of that while sitting in my recliner watching Netflix.

Wanna a grip or forearm workout?

Let your grass grow up about knee high in your backyard.

Then start swinging one of these:

Some people call it a "sling blade" ... hmmn...hmmnn.
