Ive been shooting 75 grain Hornady BTHP since they first came out at velocity from 2700 (red box of 50) then reloads at 2850 w BLC-2 and finally 2,900 fps with CFE 223.
At higher velocity and my altitude they are about as flat shooting as 168 grain 308 winchester. 40-41 inches come up at 1,000. they are not as flat shooting as a 77 SMK or TMK. I have not tried the 223 ELD's but the 178 grain 308 is as flat shooting as claimed.
Above velocities are per Hornady reloading manual and NATO not SAAMi pressure. And fired from 20 inch 1-9.
For comparison, the 77 SMK takes about 37 MOA for 1000 at my altitiude.
Real world G7 of SMK is about .190 and TMK .192, not nearly as high as Sierra claims.
So, yes you can shoot a 75 that far. I would try the 75 rather than 73 ELD if your OCL and twist will handle it.
Or rebarrel to a 1:8 Wylde. It is the new 1:9.
