Re the made-in-the-USA Prime Ammunition 6.5mm SAUM 4S, he said that's still a few months away. He expressed his gratitude for all the support he's received from our sport-shooting world. The future looks bright for Prime Ammunition. And, I'm looking forward to the release of Made in the USA Prime Ammunition 6.5mm SAUM 4S. View Quote During my July 24, 2019 phone conversation with Jim O'Shaughnessy, wherein, I asked when our sport-shooting world can expect the highly-anticipated release of USA-made Prime Ammunition 6.5mm SAUM 4S ammunition, Jim answered, "Next the 6mm Creedmoor, then the 6.5 SAUM 4S." I'm excited ! |

And, while we await the production of U.S.-made 6.5mm Short Action Ultra Magnum, SIG Sauer has developed a high-pressure bi-metal cartridge: .277 SIG Fury. The cartridge is reloadable. And, SIG has a 6.5mm version in the works.

If I were wanting a long range personal rifle I'd wait on one of those two above. Very impressive.
5.56, 300blk, .308 "Fury" rounds would be interesting as well. Who's making the Wolverine bone barrels? |

Kinda want the PSA 6.5Creed.

This peeked my interest in "AR10" platform calibers. How does 338 Federal stack up? Why 6.5 Creedmoor has success and 338 Federal is basically unknown has me wondering. Price, weight, and marketing I suppose because it certain doesn't come close in performance. Anyone know a good AR 338 barrel manufacturer?

"A bird in the hand . . ."
I today called Prime Ammunition and spoke with Customer Service. I posed the question, "When will our sport-shooting world be able to order made-in-the-USA Prime Ammunition 6.5 SAUM 4S ammunition." The response, "That's still about a year out." Meanwhile, the comments from shooters using the made-in-Europe 6.5 SAUM 4S ammunition are encouraging --- < http://www.targetsportsusa.com/prime-ammunition-6-5-remington-saum-4s-ammo-142-grain-otm-match-plus-7528240020-p-109362.aspx > |

The widest point of the .308 Winchester case is the rim: 0.473"
The widest point of the .300 Winchester Short Magnum case is the base: 0.555" This necessitated that I open-up the ejection port, which no longer allowed the original port cover to latch closed. |
