I will be doing some receiver face truing and Loctiting the barrel at a later point... so this is just the first part. |

Damn, OP, that's impressive for a PA.
Do you reload? Curious how much you could tighten those groups up? |

Were those the best groups, or the only groups?
Curious if it gets better with the Hornady 140 or 147’s, or even the Federal GMM Berger 130’s after bedding the barrel. The Hornady seems to be the most affordable, and the FGMM seems to be available at a lot of Walmart stores when you can’t wait for shipping. |

Broke the barrel nut while reinstalling it....,after trueing the receiver face.
So that put a kink in the progress... RnR'd another barrel nut... so I will proceed this weekend. |

Finally got to the range today for the Trued n' Glued testing.... If anyone isn't sure if it helps, I can say, either my shooting skills dramatically improved... or the Trued n' Glued worked.
I will do the Tn'G on all my AR platforms.... the results are so obvious, that most groups could be readily / easily be seen to be better.... without measuring at the range. Improvements in the realm of 1MOA+ will be seen in the following downloaded photos. I will note the measured improvements as well as the few "didn't change a thing" ones. I am hoping to alter the original posts with a before ( OEM ) and after, True n' Glue photo. Give me some time... but, again.. if you aren't sure if you want to do it.... I will argue that you should !! Lol Also there will be some added ammo tested from the Tn'G barrel. Wow .... I am still impressed with the results just thinking about it. |

Info is up... I did go with the before and after photos next to each other... so start at the beginning of the thread.
There are some suprising changes in some of the various ammo... mostly good, but some worse. Tn'G means Trued the receiver face and Loctited ( Glued ) the barrel in with Loctite 609 |

I have a limited firearms and ammo budget. So I have to make the best decision possible. So thank you Op, for everything you are trying to do. |

Seriously wasn’t trying to be an ass, if that’s the way you took it. I don’t like jumping from thread to thread to read and get answers, especially in another forum. You’re obviously posting in both threads, so I assumed you’d follow up with an answer. I however didn’t realize you would get bent all out of shape over a question. I was just curious about the amount of time and whether that was from the best group or the only group fired for that ammo, as 8 hours seems like a long time and was speculating that you fired multiple groups. And, if so, I would be curious how the averages looked.
Definitely looks like an improvement. I’ve been using shim stock for my builds, but the loctite 609 may be worth looking at. Edit: After viewing your other post, I did not see the answer to my question there either. I may have overlooked it due to the vast amount of info youve presented. |

Good luck with the project. Hopefully you’ll be able to get multiple groups posted with various ammo. Interested in your results. |

I re-fired all the original ammo tested ( and spent time doing my own shooting ) .
The reason it is posted in the PSA Industry thread ( just like my .308 PSA PA10 GII thread ) is because it is a PSA. Good or Bad... hardly anyone is going to come to this forum to read about a PSA . Pretty much the Same in the "AR Variants" forum... PSA , as we all know has a dubious rep. amongst some of us. That is why the FYI Threads. As for the accuracy aspect, believe me... I didn't expect the PSA Barrel to shot as well as it did. I expected accuracy on par with the "bargain" $500 complete upper price. ( Which doesn't leave much money for a decent barrel. ) Again no hard feelings. Next time I will change the formatting , since you were not the first person ( in this tiny thread ) to not "understand " my piss poor format. I will continue to post in the PSA Forum section... many more people view about it in there. |
