Really like my M1A socom but it would be nice to have some magnification.
I don't want to spend over $400, but was hoping for something I could forward mount on the factory rail? Recommendations ? It's pretty much just a plinker/ SHTF gun, maybe some day I will hog hunt with it |

The SOCOM has a rail mounted on the barrel, correct?
Consider a Trijicon RMR or low mount red dot for fast action shooting. I'm using A.R.M.S. #18 with super low 30mm rings for magnifide scopes. I had to remove the rear sight to get the best scope height. Leupold's Mark 4 1.5-5 and 2.5-8 mid-range tactical scopes are excellent for this role. |

Kinda depends on what you want to do with it. I have a Leupold VX-R Patrol 3-9 x 40 on mine. Probably one of the best bang for the buck scopes on the market.
