My good buddy @Dobs013 has been hounding me to get back into building guns.  He started this snowball so here it goes.

Offical name: Remy Dobs
Because Remy Lacroix is HAWT and it's Dobs' fault.

BARRELED ACTION: Bought this off of the EE from Samuse
Remington 700P
308
Timney 510
Badger bolt knob
Nightforce Xtreme Duty 20MOA base bedded
Attachment Attached File

STOCK: Bought this off of the EE from rrbgeb
McMillan A1-3 adjustable
Like BNIB outstanding stock
Attachment Attached File

THE PLAN: If the M40a1 and the XM3 had a baby using and super hot Army female sniper as a surrogate on a budget what would it be?
Keep the finished product under $1800 without the cost of gunsmithing.
Going to cut the barrel down to 18.5" and thread it.
Currently, have a Magpul bottom plastic and mag.  Going to run until I can find a Badger or PTG for cheap!
Badger or MK4 rings. If you got a set let a brother know!
Will 90% more than likely be a host for a suppressor just don't know which yet HELP PLEASE
Wanting to go with a MIL/MIL FFP optic something variable power between 1x-15x MOAR HELP PLEASE
Attachment Attached File

USE: Ultimate Urban Sniper Deer Hunter.
0-600m 1 MOA capable
Find ammo anywhere because I won't be reloading for a while
Well Rounded in all areas
Shoot at the Range
Local PRS
Deer hunt
Shoot MOA All Day Long Challenge
Have fun
Attachment Attached File

As always your input is much appreciated. HOWEVER, this isn't a super precision rifle that will never get dirty.  I plan to work the hell out of this rifle.  I will update as parts are found, work is done, and testing has been completed.

ETA: The action side of blue tape marks 18.5"

I need pic's of the hot female sniper holding finished product.

I would shoot a group before cut down and after so you will have an idea if you effected the accuracy positive or negative.  And what ammo grouped best before and after.

Hanging Sir on me is like hanging a door bell on an outhouse.

Looks like a nice project, very similar to a deer rifle build I'm doing except with the adjustable HTG M40 stock, Krieger 5R, Jewell trigger and Badger lug.

I'd take a look at the bottom metal from Surgeon rifles, I think the mag release is a better design, for a suppressor I don't think you could do much better than a TBAC Ultra 9 brake attach.

Scope on my rifle will be a Trijicon AccuPower 1-8x28mm I just got.

ETA: here it is on my trusty GA Prec. .308 I've had for almost 17 years now.

Dropped it off at the Gunsmith.

Bottom plastic to be fitted

Action bedded

Barrel cut down to 18.5" threaded to 5/8x24

I wasn't going to cut the barrel down just yet because I wanted to get some testing and comparison data for you buuuuuuut they cut me a great deal to do it all at once so I gave in like a little bitch lol.

Sorry for the long delay.

Gunsmith is all kinds of busy and they were broken into this pass weekend.  On top of the owner's wife and office manager having to go through chemo.

Shouldn't be much longer.

Depends 100% on your Gunsmith and your stock.

My McMillan was super tight and inletted for a BDL hinged floorplate.  Just the magazine by itself won't fit into the inlet.

I would say about $100-$150 for a set up like mine.

Less than $100 for a Bell and Carlson stock, I've seen a few guys and youtube video DIY.  It didn't take much effort.

Nice looking rifle! About how much was it to cut it down and thread it if you don't mind me asking? I have a similar rifle sitting around and was debating switching it for a Bergara, but I really like how this looks! Nice work.

All depends on your gunsmith.  I think it was $140 to cut in down, thread it, and thread protector.
