Going with NF or S&B? Thanks! My first choice is the S&B PSR, but the medallion thing on top of the objective bell bothers me. Maybe it won't bother me as much as I think it would? Who knows - its purely an aesthetic thing. Strongly considering the NF ATACR 5-25x56 in its place. I know there is at least one pic floating around of an AICS chassis Stiller Mod 5 w/ that scope. |

Notice the date on your sling. Its recent production. I have a few oldgen used mk13 mod 5 slings and none of them have those tags. They have LBT and Eagle Logo tags.

Interesting.
Curious about the one I got then - the tag has an NSN that matches Mod 5 and 6 issued slings (when I looked it up anyway). Are these like custom runs that somebody ordered? Leftovers from a previous run? Or made up? |

thank you

think they are a run that gunbroker IvanDrago had made. Likely he put an order in with Eagle for the minimum number.

which mil spec version? They were run on all sorts of things. MK11'S, MK17's, M40's (fringe mirs ones), M24's, MK13 MOD 5, MK20 etc.

Just straight mil-spec stamped but second focal plane SFP, no army, no navy, and non F1, so I believe these are pretty old. I think I got the answer that I was looking for though: Mk11 Mod0/Mod2, Mk13 Mod5, M40a3, Mk14, and Mk12s.

The only Nightforce optic used in the Marines was on the XM3 (excluding recent Atacr contract).
The XM3 came with a 3.5-15x50 Milspec NXS. SFP with mildot. They weren't used on M40s. Some took the S&B off the 40 and put it on the XM3 because the S&B was a better optic and already a familiarity with it. |

Speaking of scopes (and specifically NF and S&B), how do the S&B PSR and NF ATACR compare?
Are they equal in terms of glass quality, durability, and functionality? |

View Quote End users in a specific community had numerous tracking issues with the PSR scopes(along with certain other issues), which directly led to a new contract which NF subsequently won. Whether you would have the same issues is impossible to predict. The ATACR is also correct for a Late Mod 5. |

Need some optic info. I'm build a mk13 mod 5 on one of the Thoroghbred return stocks with IMUNS and Stiller Mk13 action. What are the correct scope and ring options for this particular set-up? I'm looking for specifics such as power, reticle, turrets, etc.
Thanks! |

Have also seen Steiner and Vortex on the Mk13, but I'm assuming those were personal buys or unit purchases?

There is a distinction in scopes used between the Stiller Mod 5s and the Remington ones. For right now the only ones seen on the Stiller for sure have been the Schmidt 5-25 PSR and the 5.5-22 milspec/Navspec, as the Stiller Mod 5s were Navy only, with limited use by MARSOC iirc. EDIT: and the above mentioned Vortex Razor Gen 1.

Do the masses have any good leads on Nightforce scopes that have been discontinued? I finally get my rifle built and the scope I want to put on it is no longer made. I'm looking for the Nightforce C244, which is 5.5-22x56 with Mil-dot reticle. I've gotten a hold of Nightforce and even with the Mil program they won't make it for me. So, anyone got any good ideas? Leads? One for sale?
