No issues with it moving around. Then again, I'm not hiking around with it in the field - just bench shooting.

So can anyone tell me the difference between the mk13 mod0 and mk13 mod1?? Is it barrel profiled for the mk11 suppressor? I know they have the tactical profile.
I traded my MARS rail towards mk13 parts, regretted it, found one here for $120 shipped, took to long and missed it, found one last night for $200 brand new. Didn't let that one slip away. I guess I gotta build a mod5 now lol. Gonna need a few years to recoup from this mk13, buying a house, renovating, engagement ring, planning a wedding ect.

The Mk13 Mod 1 is the exact same as the Mod 0 except that it is left-handed.  (SOFWEP-01-GGEN-00063-00)

The Mk13 Mod 3 has the "doughnut" for the Mk11 suppressor.

Does anyone know if Alan Brown is still offering his services? Sent him an email, but have yet to hear anything back and I can't find any alternate contact information. I'd appreciate any help getting in touch with him.

It all makes sense now. Dan Ross said it would cost significantly more to contour the barrel to fit the suppressor, and I asked him about the doughnut and he said it wouldn't work with my barrel. In guessing my barrel is too thick. I thought the mod3 had a Olive drab AI chassis but with a flash hider. Which one is that then?

As far as Alan Brown goes, great guy by the way, I called and spoke to him a couple of times and last week I sent him my parts for my MK13 build.  He is still building rifles a few at a time.  He quoted me between 6-9 months to complete my rifle...ouch I know.  But he usually answers the phone more so than email he said.  A lot of junk mail and no time to read all of the junk he gets.  I would give him a call mid day and see what he has to say.

Always a big fan of your rifles. And my smith said he can send you the rail, so it would make sense to just send it directly to him. The trued action I acquired from somebody else was jacked up and he had to fix it, so its gonna be a little while before I get the rifle. Ill DM you on IG

Neither of those look to be a Mk13.

The one on the right is a McMillan tac338 and the one on the left the bolt knob isn't a 700, if I was a betting man I would say it is also a McMillan rifle.

And so it begins. Does anyone have any pictures of the doughnut used to mount the MK11 suppressor. One individual told me that they used Mk11 double high gas blocks and turned it down, does this sound correct?

XM-3

Correct except I placed a NF 3-15 Mil/Mil F1 Army Contract scope on it instead of the mil/moa correct scope.

I'm not super thrilled with the standard trigger, I've got a Huber Concepts certificate coming, itll probably go in this rifle and I'll throw the correct trigger in the hardcase.

Oh my bad, miss communication. Thought you were talking about the flyer. Yes, the pic shooting out on the hogsaddle. That's Milfin. Best kept secret around the east side. 4 1/2 hr drive for me but its worth it. Especially when we go with a camper and camp there for a few days. Jack Price is awesome. And he doesn't charge membership to serviceman. There's a newer range upstate NY, but its pricey. Rumor has it that they're working on 1 mile.
Is that mod5 in the wild or your personal USN? And that XM3 is sweet Junkie! Where'd you score the stock pack?

Stock pack came with it, I got it from a gentleman who ordered it from IBA.

This rifle uses a Ti receiver in an attempt to cut down on weight, IBA attempted to cut down the weight of the XM-3 but found out what a pain Ti is to work with and stuck with standard 700 receivers.

Found this fix for the photojunkit mess.

If you're using Google Chrome, go to the three dots on the right side of the screen and click them. A drop down should appear. Hover your mouse over "More Tools," and when the next drop down appears, click on extensions. Go to the link towards the bottom that says "Get more extensions." In the search box, type "Photobucket Fix," and hit enter. Click the install button and once it's done, you should be able to see photobucket pictures again.

For FireFox users, click on the three bars on the right side of the screen, then click on add ons. Click search for "photobucket hotlink" and click install. Same result."

Ok shit. Then what stock is used in the pic I posted of the M24A2?? Were they both used?
Damn sexy. So is a collar actually used, or does your barrel have a 20 degree taper? Thinking about maybe having my mk13 barrel contoured for this. I'm gonna eventually purchase that can for another rifle anyways.

I believe it is the same stock, but just without the locking ring. According to a tech rep @ HS Precision that I talked to a couple years ago told me the HS Presision PST011 and the PST013 were the only stocks used for the M24 program.
Here is a pic of a US Army Sniper in Afghanistan with a M24A2

For the can I am using the AE30 and no collar is used. The taper and threads were milled out. M24 barrel is plenty thick so no collar is needed.

The two serew holes on the barrel was where the previous front sight post was mounted.

So no Ops/AE muzzle brake is used? Like on the Remington USR? I have a 308 mk12 clone, and have the 30cal brake and collar and its externally threaded like the regular 22cal brake. The diameter is different from the threading on the barrel to the external threading on the brake, so I don't see how it would work without a brake. Have anymore M24A2 pics you would like to share with the class?

No brake at all. Suppressor is directly threaded to the barrel. I reached out to Nick Betts about a year or so and asked about his rifle. He confirmed with me then the suppressor was (Ops Inc .30) was threaded directly to the barrel. No brake but he did have a thread protector when not in use. Also he had 10rd AI mags which i cant seem to find anywhere. Only the 5 round mags.

Good shit! Thanks man. Who did your barrel? When I eventually get an AEM30, may wanna get my M24 contoured

Like this M24 with the thread protector? You can see the contour in the barrel too.
