Why'd you move away from the kahles scope? I've been thinking of switching from night force to kahles dlr scope.

That top mounted parallax seems awesome.

I'm a lefty and that would make paralx easier

Drool.

I've always wanted a Winchester 52 and a Remington 37.

My Remington Model 37, was made in 1937 (S/N is a very low XXX).  It has the original barrel which is still in fine shape.

I have the original iron sights, the single loading block and the 5 shot magazine.

The scope is an era-appropriate Lyman SuperTargetSpot in 12X.  It is a very good scope.

I may get some better photos,... some day.

If you want one and can find one, BUY IT!  There are well made rifles that just happen to be in rimfire.  There's no sheet metal, no aluminum, no plastic,... just steel, blued steel and walnut.  For me, it fits very well and is a joy to shoot offhand using the iron sights.

Sorry I didn't notice this sooner.

The ZC527 has more elevation travel, and I am currently trying to use my Vudoo as an all-purpose rimfire gun for NRL22 and for some hobbyist ELR shooting (600 yards), so with a 60MOA base I get about 31.7 MIL elevation adjustment with a 50 yard zero.

Plus, I simply wanted to try the ZCO (and just received a second one, but with an MPCT3X reticle).

The DLR should be a fine scope. Top parallax is great. I will say that I notice chromatic aberration on my K525i in certain lighting conditions. One would be during cold weather with bright sun (e.g., winter morning with crisp air and looking on white targets).

Bring the basics to an Appleseed shoot.  10/22.  Make sure your have checked your equipment.  Comb height is critical so you don't experience parallax with your scope.  1.25" sling swivels with a garand sling!

Find an appleseed shoot in your AO!

@TNC

When I'm shooting off my porch on summer afternoons, the sun is at my back and my berm is in the woods.  At certain times of the day, I can watch the bullets from a few feet in front of the muzzle all the way to impact.  It's really cool to see the bullets flying, and how much they're effected by gravity and wind over distance.  My berm is only 85 yards, but the arc and any wind is absolutely visible when conditions are right.

How fast is that MDT bipod to adjust position and length?  I want to get a high end bipod and have been considering that or an atlas.

It’s fast once you get used to the controls. To deploy the legs further you just have to pull on the legs, no release mechanism required. The MDT allows for forward positioning of the legs (45degree), but doesn’t have the rearward 45 degree option that the Atlas has. The MDT has a very wide stance when set at its widest setting, which is great when prone (wider than Atlas Super CAL iirc). To me, that’s the biggest benefit. It can have a narrow or very wide stance in under 2 seconds. The Cyke pod does have some heft to it with the built in barricade stop. It helps for balancing out a rifle that doesn’t have a weight kit installed. That was a plus for me, as I have a 1.250” straight blank I’ll be chambering for my Vudoo and didn’t want to buy a weight kit only to not need it in 2-3months (blank is 9lbs!)

I’ve got a few Atlas (BT-10, CAL), but I really like the Cyke-Pod. With the price difference, the Atlas Cal with RRS Arca adapter is probably the best option for most. If you don’t mind spending the extra 200$, the Cyke-Pod is a fantastic bipod.

Kidd .22, I had forgotten how accurate and soft shooting the rifle is. Using Wolf Gold Match ammo this gun will just shoot the center out of the target without much effort. The scope is a SWFA fixed 10 which pair’s nicely with the gun as you can focus down to 10 meters.

Thanks for the info.  I noticed a lot of shooters using the rearward 45 degree option to shoot off the top of the 55 gallon drum in NRL22 so I guess it really does have a practical use.  Lots to consider.

Aluminum 3 Inch Fore Plate for Benchrest Stability

https://www.rimfirebenchrestforum.com/

in Bench Techniques and Equipment
Purchased from Hart Custom Rifles, I've installed their  Accuracy Asset I on my CZ 457 Provartmint in hopes of providing a more stable platform then the traditional bag rest on my Bald Eagle.  The bag rest did not provided a secure and level/plumb stock resting position that I was seeking.

The installation is easy using the provided screws; attaching to the stock using the sling swivel threads.

Hart's Accuracy Asset I consists of an anodized aluminum three piece assembly and shipped with four attachment screws to assure one is the correct length for your rifle stock.

Wanting to get away from what I perceived to be a springy bipod, I bought a Caldwell bag and recently used it for the first time.  I was disappointed in the lack of recoil control even though I had a flat-bottomed stock.  I believe that variability of the recoil caused some of the errant shots.  So, the bipod seemed springy and the bag seemed variable, too.

Although it felt "springy" on a concrete benchtop, at least the bipod did not cause errant shots (off call).  Maybe I am just unfamiliar with shooting from a bag.

It seems the bench rest is as important as the rifle in benchrest shooting.

I could be wrong about all that because benchrest shooting techniques are largely unknown to me.

Any thoughts on technique?

Speaking just for myself, I do not foresee going to a full benchrest setup.  My point of reference is position shooting using a sling.

Thank You Sir!!

I picked it up about 5 years ago simply because of it's looks. Had no idea what it was.

Shot it for the first time a couple weeks ago because I was invited to an ARA 22 Benchrest Shoot....turns out it shoots very very well indeed.

It is 100% straight out of the box stock except for the scope of course.
