I have never had alot of luck with load development for Semi's. I always get decent results but nothing exceptional.

Anyways, I recently got a 6.5 Creedmoor Tikka that was boringly easy to load for. Nearly every combination of h4350 and 140s shot better than factory ammo, and many are shooting .5-.75 MOA 5 shot groups.

Anyways I have a good variety of powder and projectiles here. As with the 6.5, I tend to do better when I focus on one powder / bullet selection.

Of the following bullets, Is there any you guys feel are the least jump sensitive and most likely to have good results after one or two OCW tests?

Sierra

69 HPBT
77HPBT

Hornady
68 HPBT
75 HPBT
53 V Max

Nosler
77 HPBT

Ive got Varget, Tac, H4895, 8208XBR, and some N140.

I'll tell you after Sept. 30th!!!!

My Ultramatch did great with RL15 and the Hornady 68's. Didn't load anything else to try, and haven't shot it in over 2.5 years. Varget would be a decent substitute.

77gr SMK/CC
75gr BTHP
50gr VMAX (the 53gr is rather slick for it's weight).

24gr Varget, 23.5gr H4895, 23gr XBR8208 should be a ballpark high node for the 75/77s and low node for the 50/53s.

Unfortunately my 18" AR liked the most expensive bullet best. The 77smk, don't use any of those powders.

68/69 grain match bullets and 24.5 grains of VihtaVuori N140 or Varget hammers from every rifle I own.

24.0 grains of H-4895 works great with 68/69 match bullets as well.

I consider the H-4895 load to be maximum for my purposes. You have room to play with the N140 or Varget loads +/- .5 grain to find an accuracy window.

I've got a 18" SPR profile Ultramatch from Rainier that is 3-4 years old. I'll say it was one of the harder barrels I've worked up a load for. It was picky on bullets and powder to get a decent group. I settled on 77 TMK and TAC to get them about 2700ish. Shoots good at that but that was it, I went through several bullets and powders before settled on that.

69 grain SMK and 23.5 grains of TAC with a #41 primer in L/C brass is my index load for at lease 4 rifles I have access to with 12.5", 16", and 20" barrels.

That same recepie, but 23.5 grains of XBR 8208 is also awesome!

I've found that TAC and XBR are almost interchangeable in 223 loads. Their burn speeds are very close.

I’ve never had a rifle shoot the 68gr Hornady bullet well, don’t know why.

The 69gr Sierra MK has always performed in several 16-18-20in bbl Rifles.  I load them to Mag length.

For the 69 SMK my best was Reloader15, with a 7 1/2 primer.

Initial test with the 73 eld-m’s showed some potential

My 18" Rainier UM does really well with 77 Nosler CCs seated to 2.250 with 23.2 grains of AR Comp with a Fed 205M  at 2775 fps in LC brass.  All other primers (CCI400, CCI450, Rem 7.5, and CCI41) pushed the load up to 2800 fps, but they also produced pressure sign on my cases.

Another load is for the 73 ELD-M seated to 2.250 with 23.7 grains of H4895 in LC brass with a CCI400 producing 2760 fps.

Second Rainier UM with the same load as above. Afraid I built my dad a more accurate rifle than mine...
