Thunderhead T-100....

I've tried a few expandables with not the greatest out comes.

With that said, I have a dozen Chinese hypodermics to try this year....for $12, I'll try them out. Worse case is I save them for tree rats ;)

I'm just starting into Elk and deer hunting with my bow this year as seasons run at the same time here.

I picked up the three blade 6 pack Muzzy kit for 32.00 that everyone suggests.  Going to use them as backup.

Actually going to hunt with the Ramcat Diamondback 100gr though......

Talked with a few people about them and ponied up for three of these tips.  I gotta say the quality difference between these and the Muzzy is hands down no contest......Ramcat win.  Every edge has an extreme sharp edge so if you handle be CAREFUL!  Even the tip and edges on the tip are extremely sharp considerably more than the Muzzy.

I will say this though, you are talking a little more than double the price between the two so better be able to tell a difference...........right?

Good Hunting!

Use Muzzy MX3's but I used a toxic broad head my buddy gave me last season, the deer I shot had massive internal bleeding (double lunged him). He went down quick. I will say, it didn't have a ton of penetration but it didn't really need it. Not 100% sold on them, but I am thinking of getting a pack now for this coming season to try out a little more....though they aren't cheap.

I'm trying out Swhackers this year.

I used Grim Reaper 'Fatal Steel' last year, and I was not impressed.

What's the best mechanical out there that isn't an O-ring style?

I heard someone last year talking about some good mechanical retention broadheads but I can't remember what brand they were.

Spitfire is that NAP mechanical right?

I've heard good things about them but bad stories on small entrance wounds.  What has your experience been?

edit:  Screw it, I'm going to KISS this year.  Grabbed some Slick Trick Standards.  I always get nervous about fixed blades in high wind.  I know it takes a pretty serious blow to cause a broadhead to plane inside of 40-50 yards BUT I've taken shots at deer in some pretty serious blows(as in, my wife is standing with her arms out holding the blind on one side while I kneed with my foot holding it down on the other side as I am taking the shot[this is a tied down, staked down blind]).

I've got an unused rage I'll keep in my quiver just encase I end up in that situation again but those O-rings scare me.

NAP Killzone have been my go to for years now

Strong, great flight, super sharp, always work, never come undone while stalking, YUGE wounds and blood trails you can follow at a run...if you have the horsepower to shoot a mechanical, shoot these.

Grim Reapers.  They have always flown to the same POI as field tips and they come with a practice head.  Any of the expandables will kill a deer, not all of them fly to the same point of impact as a field tip.
