Please help me out here.  I shot a 3 gun match today using a set of Dawson Precision base pads.  The match director measured my magazine and said it was over the 140mm limit for the tac irons division, and that my magazines would bump me into open.

I could have sworn the base pads were 140mm compliant.  Below are two link to them.  Do any of you use these in a non-open class?

1) Most basepads are designed to be USPSA Limited compliant; USPSA rules actually stipulate a maximum length of 141.25mm, not 140mm.
2) A lot of length failures I see are caused by the shooter adding grip tape to the bottom of the pad. If you are close to the limit, grip tape is usually a no go.

Lots of people use those magazine extensions in 3-Gun Tac/Tac Irons and USPSA Limited divisions without issue.  Make sure the match director was measuring the magazines correctly.

This^^^. Lots of people measure them wrong. If they don't have a USPSA magazine gauge, they shouldn't be questioning lentgh IMO.

Ya If they wanna measure mags, they need to use the correct gauge not toss a ruler and give it a guess.  that is the standard for measuring mags
