I have a IR Defense REAP-IR and would be interested to know how some others have mounted their external battery pack. I think most people attach it to the stock in some way.

I have no problem having discussion about NV/Thermal here, as clearly it is main thing for hog hunting nowadays, but this is probably best answered in the Night Vision forum.

I'm not going to move this there because I'm a little unclear if this is a subject they have beat to death over there or not, but look for the info and if you can't find it, make a thread there.

Go to discussion forums, then select "armory" and then "night vision".

Y'all are welcome to discuss this stuff here too, as it applies to hunting, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

I checked the Night Vision subforum and nothing listed there on mounting battery packs.

I mounted the DVR on the stock to get it as far away from the muzzle blast as possible on my pulsar. The battery pack I mounted to the M1919 rail on the side of the scope housing. I don't know about the IR optic but I'd go on the hand guard if it uses an external DVR. I like the weight in the center some might like a little forward weight to aid in stalking. But you will find yourself shooting off of sticks or monopods. Off hand shooting gets a little tougher as weight goes up.

What do you think of mounting the battery pack to the magazine. I don't think I'd need more than 20 shots at a time.

If you need to crawl up in a stand or cross a fence then you would be removing the magazine. Not to mention getting in and out of vehicles. It's to bad someone has not made a stock with battery pack and dvr compartments. Plus getting it forward gets the wires away from the charging handle.

Removing the mag with battery pack attached wouldn't be a problem...you just unplug the cord when doing so.

I actually have this exact pouch, and the mounting straps on the back are really bad for most stocks. You are supposed to use zip ties to attach the plastic straps to the stock, and I've looked over the possibilities and there is no good way to do it with this pouch.

Out current stock pouch we designed was made for shooters and is fully Made in the USA. It can also be made to wear on helmets as well. The pouch has been very well received and we sell a great amount of these.

The link you provided shows a pouch for a specific DVI recorder, not a battery. Do you have a similar pouch for holding batteries?

I attach it to a LT mount that attaches to the rail.

Which Larue Tactical mount are you using, they have dozens and I'm not sure which one would work with a battery pack. If you can post a pic that would be great!

Just completed testing of the new pic rail battery pack for the PTS233 we have shown above. We got 13.5 hrs continuous at room temp, (65deg F). We will be debuting and releasing at Shot Show in a few weeks.

The battery pack itself is an off-the-shelf unit (Anker Astro) and comes with a recharging cable. The recharge cable is USB/Micro USB (The same as the a Samsung phone). So, you can plug the battery into your laptop or an AC/USB wall outlet adapter. We also include a cable that is used between the Battery and the scope. This is a custom 7" cable that is USB/USB-C. Since the PTS scope uses a USB-C port, our cable will go from the battery into the port. It's a custom cable with a right angle connection on the USB-C. This keeps the connection low profile so it won't snag and break in the field.

FINAL TRB's are now complete on our TNVC web site for ordering under "New Products". (Thank you for the patience as we finalized the design).

I 'm really impressed on how the final version of the cradle turned out.
