Early season I wear Chippewa waterproof snake boots. After the snakes go dormant I switch over to an 8" Danner Pronghorn with 200 Thinsulate and a rubber reinforced toe box.

I went to my local Red Wing store before last season.  Told them I wanted a light weight boot for upland hunting.  I tried a few styles, and
ended up liking the Irish Setter Vaprtrek boot.  Seemed kinda pricy for a non-leather boot, but they were comfortable, and my feet stayed
dry.  I didn't hunt any swamps, but plenty of wet grass and puddles.

They are just slightly more than 1/2 of the weight of my traditional leather Red Wing boots, and my feet thanked me for it every step last season.

Got my new boots.  Russell Moccasin kangaroo south 40 bird shooters. They are more comfortable than sneakers.
