Early season I wear Chippewa waterproof snake boots. After the snakes go dormant I switch over to an 8" Danner Pronghorn with 200 Thinsulate and a rubber reinforced toe box.

I went to my local Red Wing store before last season. Told them I wanted a light weight boot for upland hunting. I tried a few styles, and ended up liking the Irish Setter Vaprtrek boot. Seemed kinda pricy for a non-leather boot, but they were comfortable, and my feet stayed dry. I didn't hunt any swamps, but plenty of wet grass and puddles. http://www.irishsetterboots.com/USD/product/hunting-boots/02863-vaprtrek-8-brown They are just slightly more than 1/2 of the weight of my traditional leather Red Wing boots, and my feet thanked me for it every step last season. |

Just ordered a pair of Russell Kangaroo lightweight bird shooters. Can't wait for them to get here.

Pretty much everywhere I hunt grouse and pheasants has water so I wear LaCrosse Alphaburly 18" rubber boots.

Got my new boots. Russell Moccasin kangaroo south 40 bird shooters. They are more comfortable than sneakers.
