Does anyone get hung rattlesnakes for meat?

I have a few times in the past, it cooks well.

I don't encounter rattlesnakes on purpose, but I'd try the meat.

Sometimes I will kill and eat rattlesnake but these days I mostly just kill them when they are in or near the yard since I have dogs.  I used to hunt rattlesnakes a lot as a kid though and have eaten tons of them.  They're pretty tasty.

Have eaten it.  It’s ok, but not as good as frog legs or gator tail.

This thread pertains to my interests.

I don't see nearly enough of them, and the ones I do see are in state parks, so... no hunting them in those areas.

But I would if I could.

Back in the 80's my friends and I would hunt rattlesnakes during the winter. We'd find them in gopher turtle holes and dig them out. We kept the snakes in boxes until the Claxton rattlesnake roundup in March and then sell them there. I have great memories of all us kids piled up in one of our dad's trucks, coming up from Fla to the roundup.
Sadly they don't do the roundup anymore. I think it's the fruitcake festival now. Stupid PETA!

Tastes like chicken but way too bony.  I'd have to be really hungry.
