Two more tonight, still working the cut hayfield as the soybeans here are just starting to sprout.
Very very pleased with the 53 grain Vmax's accuracy and the terminal performance. Both shots were right at 120 yards. |

Another 2 for the evening, first one was shot at 80 yards into the bean field. That was a freshly dug hole, I hit another one further out in the field but couldn't recover it.
I hit a pup in the weed line but also couldn't find that one. Bottom pic is a sow shot at 145 yards near the cut hayfield where most of the other vermin have been. 
#10 for the year and the beans are just coming in. You can see a few sprouts in the top pic. This field gets worked pretty hard every 2 years but still produces numbers like crazy. There are always holes in the actual field in this particular location which usually means a lot of them are around. This entire field is ringed by trees except for a small cut to get equipment in and out. There's a river boundary and quite a bit of bottom ground so it's prime real estate for quite a few critters. |

Odin Works upper Founding Fathers Lower Burris Fullfield E1 - 6.5-20x50mm Nosler 62 grain Varmageddon ammunition ----- I just finished up shooting groups and dialing my rifle in when this guy stood up 25 yards behind the 200 yard gong. One shot laid him out, dead. 225 yards.

I'd say we have an infestation.
#18 tonight for me and my brother in law continues to shoot very well. He picked up his 4th and 5th tonight and both shots were over 250 yards. BIL using my Savage PC10 so that meant the 22BR made the trip. 258 yards with the 22BR 
220 yards 
210 yards 
Dental work 
Pop goes the ground hog. Never seen them gas up like that.

Finally on the board after a year of coming up empty. Got this girl last night while pulling overwatch on the garden (she was going for the tomatoes). Hornady 17 gr out of Savage HMR from 53 yards.

Got #2 earlier, this one was a decent sized female that had made some serious holes and tunnels under my FILs out building.
Shot was 14 yards, Hornady 20g to the left ear.

Got a third one at the in laws late last week, caught it walking down the front sidewalk with my suppressed 22/45. Took one to the rump and another I'm guessing to the mid back or side, it ran under the sidewalk and I could hear it but couldn't see it. FIL said the stench of death was thick this afternoon near the hole. One more to go to get the known family out from the buildings and garden (bottom center eating my grape jelly I left for him):

Finally got the last of the hogs in the garden. Was working on a project on the other side of the property and got the alert from the game cam and saw the picture of the elusive male. Spooked him the first time I came around the house but waited about 3 minutes for him to come back out. 1 shot with 60gr Aguila SSS did the trick from about 15 yards.

Popped this one sitting in the stand this weekend. Only shot i had was to switch to left handed, and shoot it on the trot. About 35 yards, just before sunrise.
Spotted with the nv, shot with suppressed noveske with reap IR, 77gr IMI smk.
