Got a lightly used Browning X-Bolt Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag with a Nikon ProStaff 7 2.5-10x42 for $600.

I then found Remington Core-Lokt 150gr for under $20 a box for it.

This replaces my old school A-Bolt in 30-06.

You live in fucking Florida. What do you need a 7 mag for? Armadillos? Swamp deer?

I like my a-bolt, so imagine tha x-bolt is nice too. Yours has real nice lines and scope+gun for 600 seems good.

That is a good deal. Finding bases for the xbolt can be a challenge though.

Probably for tourist season. Sometimes they can run for miles and OP just doesn't want to have to track them that far.

A guy used to hunt here used a 7 mag.......he couldn't hit shit but I think it was mostly to get away from his wife for a while.

I'm from New England.  Still go up periodically.  I also have a 6.5 Grendel and a 5.56 AR and a shotgun.  Variety is the spice of life.

I paid 500 for one with scope bases and thought it was a good deal.  You basically got that gun for 400 bucks or a little less.  since the going rate seems to be 600 for a nice used one without any rings or scope you got a really good deal.  I really like the trigger on mine.

Should work great on gators and hogs too.
