I was just relaxing when I heard this doe trotting down the hill behind me. She caught me completely off guard, and I barely had time to stand up and grab my bow. I drew, anchored, and mouth-bleated her to a stop at 26 yards. After the shot, she ran perhaps 50 yards, stopped and swayed back and forth, then fell over.
Good shooting! Im anxiously awaiting the 458 SOCOM 2008 photo! |

Buckfever34 and I are running neck and neck. We've both arrowed 3 does a piece, I took my 8-pointer yesterday, and he took his 8-pointer this morning. I need to arrow a coyote to tie the score. |

Well I had never hunted at all before yesterday.
I got this 8 point around 3pm with my Remmington .243 using 100g Core Lokt. ~150 yard shot right behind the shoulder blade. Through and through. Ran about 20 yards and dropped. Not bad for my first day! haha Crappy cell phone pics! http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/onefstsnake2/1112081732.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/onefstsnake2/1112082203.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/onefstsnake2/1112082203a.jpg |

Great deer everyone!
Cold, congrats on your buck. Speaking of the .458 SOCOM, I shot a coyote with mine today. She was dead right there –– not even a flop. |

Thats a wide spread, you must be up in the Blue Ridge Mts. Nice wide rack! Good Kill! |

He measured out to be just under 130" gross and his live weight was 228 pounds. My father-in-law took this buck out of the exact same stand exactly 8 days later with his shotgun. |
