Brand new at this so I apologize for the n00b question-
I was gifted a DMR6X2... what do I need to get in order to hop on and listen to this channel? I think I figured out the programming but I can't find anybody to connect with. |

You'll almost assuredly need a hotspot in order to connect to the TGIF network, I'm not aware of any repeaters that operate TGIF.

I'm pretty technically savoy dude... but I feel like I've been reading a foreign language. I have read like 10 PDF's on this stuff and have only figured out how to put numbers (frequencies) from my PC onto the WT lololol |

there is ONE that I know of here in western PA --Westmoreland cty has one of thier repeaters on TGIF But there are two guys who got kicked off brandmeister and moved over to TGIF and immedeatly started up thier 24-7 rag chew and refuse to break for more than a few seconds whereby you can switch talkgroups, once in a while I swing it to 556 if I get lucky when one fthem is forced to take a BR break or a battery dies...

@Alembic would you mind posting in the thread if you're going to be available to NCS? That also lets us know if an alternate NCS is needed. Seek2 posts updates in the Olivia thread each week and updates the thread title with the next net date and I find that helpful.
I didn't see the thread active in my subscriptions last night and forgot all about it until the net results were posted. |

Going to try and connect on the NET tonight, I have the American Legion Radio Club net tonight first and if it finishes with enough time I will switch over to the DMR and try checking in here.

OK, the hotspot is set up for YSF2DMR, was able to use the FT-70D and the FTM-7250D. The test tonight will be the FT-991A.

My hotspot has decided to only intermittently connect via Wifi, so I have to plug it directly into my router now. Unfortunately my dog decided to eat the only ethernet cable I have in the house. Got another one coming from Amazon, hopefully it'll be here tomorrow.

I should make the net tonite --and if anyone is interested I have a sharkRF openspot (1st gen) sitting here doing nothing if a fellow arfcommer wants it Ill let it go very cheap before I put it on QRZ or Ebay.Right now its set up on C4FM to DMR I can either leave it as it is and delete my DMR ID and call or factory reset it but if you want to try DMR without spending money on radios or MMDVM hotspots,rasberry pi's and the learning curve its a good way to get started.
