This is how the lower bands are during summer months. Great practice though. BTW, last month was my absolute record. A total of 7 contacts with first timers. It was a first HF contact for 4 of them and the very first radio contact for 3. Wow! Today: 6 check-ins on 20 meters. 15 check-ins on 40 meters. 3 check-ins on 80 meters. I thought I heard a slow CW at the end of the 80m portion but we doubled. I asked to repeat but the station never came back. Maybe I was hearing things in my head? Thanks for your participation. |

He wasn’t that strong to NNY. A few repeats should have done it if I could hear and understand code. I set my CW studies aside to do my extra class studying. |

I won't be able to get on the air tonight due to ongoing health problems. Some things are just out of my control, sorry.
Anyone is welcome to play a net control tonight. |

I was hoping Bruce would be along. I can if need be. I hear alot of tuner fish. Hopefully arfcommers.
edit: I don't have a station like Gyprat. My antenna does OK north and south. I can't do any good west of east Texas. |

Thanks for the relay tonight! didn't think i was going to make it in with all the noise.

Was in a zoom call earlier so couldn't listen. Just tuned in and heard the two guys signing off. Good signal, low noise. I probably would've heard a lot of station tonight. Sames guys, Wisconsin and Mass, I'm hearing now?
2046- Hearing alternate NC now, your station sounds just fine to me. |
|

I appreciate you guys holding the net.
Gyprat i hope we have you back well soon. I know I’m not alone in looking forward to Tuesday nights. Also shocked I can be heard in Wisconsin! |

Constructive criticism is welcome. I am net control on a 2 meter net, but not HF. If I can improve on anything, other than my antenna, I want to hear it. I can't put up a better antenna in my current location.

I have physical therapy late on Tuesdays and Fridays for a recent Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement that has been kicking my butt for the last few weeks while I try to get range of motion back. Crashed right after an Excedrin dinner tonight. I’ll plan to be there next Tuesday in case Gyprat is still under the weather. We can practice our relay check-in’s, as my station does not the ears that Gyprat does. |

I started the net and a very good station in Wisconsin picked up when I heard all I could. It worked out. In my opinion that's what this is all about. |

2 net controls and 2 relays
Sounds like it worked just fine. Should be a periodic practice, I know Gyprat can hear most everyone. Like to find out who can hear who. Or whom |

Ohio and Wisconsin, thank you both for stepping up and doing... you know... the thing! LOL. It was a pleasure speaking with you both as well as hearing the check-ins that I could. We did get a couple of random folks, don't you think?

View Quote I was late to the net as some of us were trying to work eachother on 20m (fruitlessly I might add) You were booming into the Adirondack region of NY. Great job, I came over so late I thought the strong relay was NCS. If I was over earlier I think we could have made the QSO. This may all be a great exercise in making the net function when circumstances get changed for whatever reason happens, schedules, a weather disaster, power outage, etc. A back up plan, it may not be perfect but it goes forward. Thanks from just another newb! ETA.......I heard from stations in areas I hadn’t heard from before. N. Dakota was a new one to me. Sorry about no list this week. We were doing some alternate work on 20m when we saw you guys took up the challenge and came late. |

Gyprat, praying for a speedy recovery.
Sounded like things worked well tonight with some teamwork. That's awesome. I missed out tonight. My antenna suffered an issue over the weekend and I'm out of commission until I can get it working again. |
|
|
I didn't have time yesterday after net to post the numbers. Counting Wisconsin net control and myself we had 23 check ins. Once the pileup cleared a little I was able to hear most of the eastern stations. I was trying to keep a running log while Wisconsin was net control, but I may have missed a few. I know we had several non members check ins. One YL even said that she doesn't share our interests but still wanted to say hi. I thought it was a good net. I'd be willing to try NC again in the future.
Wisconsin thanks for the help. Gyprat get well soon. Hope to talk to you all again next Tuesday. 73 |
