Made it in from Las Vegas via relay. I could barely hear the relay station, but thanks!
700 watts tonight and net control was 90% copy. |

The only one of you bums can hear is net control.
Sometimes 30 watts and a wire isn't enough. Then again other times the little set has a LOT of mojo. I breezed through a King Hell pileup into Navassa and Swain's Island. |

Just made it in tonight. First time active on the AR-15 forum for years. Good to hear you guys on the HF rig tonight. 73’s, K9EAZ

I think I'm going to have to stick with checking in on 20m during the digital net.

We had a very active net tonight with 37 check-ins including net control, including a few from Canada. Band conditions were not too bad, but really started shifting for me towards the end of the net. I know there were some stations calling but I could not pick them out of the noise, especially at the end of the net. Sorry about that...

@Piccolo
The clarity of your audio was very good. The signal was weak but I could clearly hear what you were saying...30 watts was making the trip. And my station is not noted for having great ears. |

I used to hear HI, NZ, and Aus regularly at night on 40m but the propagation has not been so great lately. Shoot me a PM if you would like to set something up. 73 |

I didn't think I got in. I heard mostly non-arfcommers and had to leave. |

Is that a record for check ins? Sorry I couldn’t be as much help with relays as I usually am, I’m just happy my portable rig made it in.

My reception of the 40 meter net has been steadily improving over the past 6 weeks or so as the days get shorter again. |

View Quote It was a record for me....lot of non-ARFCOM members, and some former/non-active members joined us. Might need to call for ARFCOM only members to start the net (?) - open to suggestions on format/structure. I was kinda running out of steam at the end. No idea we would have that many check-ins. And you did great on your portable rig. That is one of the neat things about this net....trying out different equipment/set ups and see what happens. |

I made it into the net with a relay, barely.
I could really only hear net control, no other stations that checked in. Some with 2 call signs and some 4 and 5's. Interesting. IN the winter I was hearing almost everyone. I did just raise my ocf dipole sloper about 8-10 feet, hoping to get another 8-10 this weekend. |

I'll try to call the net tonight, God's willing. Hopefully the radio and antennas still work after sitting for so long without an oil change.
7.213 Mhz primary, 7.285 Mhz secondary frequency. All LSB Phone, as usual. We can start on 20 meters if you want but should probably do this before the 40 meter net at 20:00 ET. Let me know but keep in mind that, most likely I won't be able to hear stations nearby (Central East Coast). |

Maybe give a shout out on 20m about 15 or 30 minutes before the regular net? RST checkin/response only.

Ok. I'll call on 14.261 or 14.283 Mhz at 7:45 PM (18:45) Eastern US. I'll call and monitor the 20m. frequency for ~ 5 minutes.
Technicians or members with no license can also check in by proxy on the ZELLO's Arcfom channel. I'll also try to link the net,'s audio or at least part of the net on the Zello channel. ZELLO is a free Android or iOS app. Works like an internet based walkie talkie. Download and search for Arfcom Ham Radio channel. |

I'll be glad when I get moved. My antenna sucks on 20 meters, but it's the best I can do at my current location. I couldn't hear anyone.
