Even though I am on my potable rig, and we have T-storms in the area, and the solar flux is near an all time low, that was the best I have heard many ARFCOM stations on the net since we started this net.  Sweet!

I missed the beginning dealing with teething twins. I heard net control call for check-ins again at the end but my son started screaming again so I went to comfort him. The few folks I heard were crystal clear.

Got home tonight just in time to hear Gyprat signing off.  My sushi won out over rushing to play radio :)

You were perfectly clear here in Ohio again tonight.  Was it you that said you were running 800W or the other side?

You were booming into eastern Nebraska.  I heard you mention that you have a lot of problems with high noise levels with that vertical - I have the same issue with mine.  I've been experimenting with a separate receive antenna.  Hopefully I'll figure something out.  I get good signal reports all the time even when I can barely hear the other station due to a high noise floor.

Thanks for the great signal report into NE.

I typically get good signal reports but sometimes have a hard time hearing the weaker stations.   They’re just drowned out in the noise, with the worse noise in the early evening.

It might be time to open a thread on receive antennas to see what the group may have had success with, particularly with a vertical.

Would be great to share ideas.

I hate to do this again. It's been raining most of the day and I just heard thunder again. The tower's top is above the trees. I dont want to take any chances with lightning.
I'd appeciate if one of you guys plays NCS tonight.

The band isn't very good tonight. Storms to the north of me. Static crashes are drowning out some otherwise strong stations.

Well, you missed a great net.  Everyone worked real hard to pick up relays and support the net.  I will send the check ins to you off line.

Stay safe up there!
