I know it was talked about awhile ago was their ever any more talk discussion on an ARFCOM DMR group?  If not I would be willing to look into setting up the talkgroup on Brandmeister/DMR so we could do this.  Granted my participation may be limited to do 8 month old son and working 2nd shift rotating schedule but would be willing to see what it takes to get a DMR Talkgroup started and listed on Brandmeister to it has more reach for people like me with open spot since no DMR Repeaters are close

UPDATE: I sent an email to see about obtaining a Talkgroup we can use and will probably use the common ARFCOM HAMS as name for talkgroup.

Would be cool if we had a spot on a alabama link system.    DMR, Dstar, and fusion can all talk together if I read correctly...

Now that would be a good net.  No hardware limitations, just "Which protocol do you prefer?  Connect here with it..."

I like the tac 87 idea. It's easier to fit on a display and is less suspect.

Still waiting to hear back from Brandmeister and those in charge of assigning the talkgroups.  Apparently they are not very quick.

Stupid question, what if your local repeater doesn't list a specific talk group? DMR is still new to me so I'm trying to figure it out. Local DMR repeater is W4DFU.

Your local W4DFU repeater seems to be part of the K4USD network.

That's correct hence my "stupid" question. I presume a local DMR repeater must list a talk group in order to be able to access it.

As far as I know, on the DMR-MARC network at least, they have to be setup in advance, hence the listing.
I'm under the impression Brandmeister does it differently, but don't quote me on that.
