I don't think I ever responded to this thread.

I have been a licensed ham since 1979
Got my Extra back in the early 1990s.

I have too much equipment to list it all, but the stuff I use all the time:
Flex 6700
Elecraft KX1, KX2, KX3
Expert 2K-FA amp
I also have a Kenwood TS-590 that I haven't turned on for a couple years.
Along with an extensive collection of vintage Collins gear: S-Line, 75A1, 75A3, 75A4, 32V3, R-388, R-390, 30L-1, 30S-1......................... none of which has been turned on in more than a year.
I got a Henry 2k amp
I got a K7DYY AM transmitter
A dozen or so HTs
A couple Kenwood TM-D710s
Yeasu FT-857 in the pickup.
A dozen or so QRP rigs other than the Elecraft stuff.

I have equipment for HF and up to 1.2 gigs.

And so on.

I am primarily active on CW but am active on D-Star, DMR, Analog FM, Packet, LEO Satellites, digital modes, APRS, played with moon bounce last summer and never worked anyone and will try again this summer, occasionally on HF SSB.............................................

I'm NW7US.  I started as an SWLer in early 1970s. Was signal corps (US Army) in 1980s. Became an amateur radio operator in 1990 (took test in 1989, but it took months for the ticket to come by mail).

I'm an Amateur Extra, and earned it by not only the written but also by passing the Morse code element.

I'm really an HF-centric ham.

I love the Olivia digital mode.  I love Morse code.

I write the propagation column in:  CQ Amateur Radio magazine, The Spectrum Monitor, and Radio User (UK).

I run a few social media outlets:  https://YouTube.com/NW7US  https://www.Facebook.com/NW7US  https://www.Facebook.com/spacewx.hfradio  http://blog.nw7us.us (and many more).

Licensed late in 1984, currently have the general license. I am thinking about studying for the Exra but those questions scare the crap out of me.

Currently have a Yaesu FT-857D in the Jeep with an Outbacker HF antenna.
I have a Yaesu FT-897D in the house for VHF/UHF SSB and as an HF backup to the primary radios which are a Yaesu FT-950 on digital HF and SSB and an IC-756Pro-II.
I have a Yaesu FT-8800 dedicated to VHF/UHF FM and IRLP.
Also in there, in a go-box is an SGC-2020 with an LDG tuner attached to it and at least 4- 55AH large 12V marine batteries, in two boxes to to take and go.
Solar panels and controllers for all.
I have an ATV that has VHF/UHF comms on it as well, and a few other portable HF and VHF/UHF antennas systems for running away into the woods.
Add in a VX-6 and a VX-7 and that's it.
Antennas are all wire and way up off the ground, and can hardly be seen from the street.

*****UPDATE*****
Here is an update to my 2011 post, which is above;

Home station;
Yaesu FT-1000D 200 Watts radio, Cobra Senior Ultralite at 45 feet
Kenwood TS-950SDX and TL-922A Amp and another Cobra Senior Ultralite at 45 feet, turned 90 degrees to the other one.

IC-7300 on an HP computer for digital to a BTFD antenna at 65 feet.

Mobile station:
Kenwood TS-480HX and a Hi-Q military antenna
VHF-UHF analog/DMR mobile radios

Portable station;
Same FT-857D station I had in 2011

Did I ever really respond to this?

1978 Novice KA7CCX
1982 Technician N7DYB then N7DXT (I do not know why the second new callsign was issued I did not request it).
(Insert tons of life with lots of HR club activity, repeater building, etc. here)
2001-2009 life got tricky  - time, work and other things got in the way and and I was getting overtorqued, I put everything away and out of mind for a while.
2009 With a spark of new interest I became Amateur Extra
2010 moved to 5-land became AE5TE

I don't know how many radios I have.   Nothing fancy but I have 3 radios I use regularly, a FT-450AT, a FT-817ND and a FT-60.
Unlike the pre 2001 days when much of what I did as a ham was for the benefit of others, I operate strictly for my own sake today.  I enjoy operating HF portable, usually sideband and sometimes QRP, usually casual QSOs with no particular aim for DX, awards etc., I already have plenty of paper in my life.   I enjoy experimenting with antennas, usually homebuilt wire antennas.

Forgot I hadn't ever responded to this.

Got my technician ticket in Nov. of 2016.
Got General in April of 2017.
Got sent to PR in Sept. of 2017 (Be careful learning new skills or you might have to use them!)

Have a Yaesu FT-857D in the Jeep.
Have a Yaesu FT-991 upgraded to 991A.
Also have FT-891, FT-2980, Xeigu CS-108G+
For HTs I have Yaesu FT-8DR, a Baofeng UV-5r and UV-5RHP.

Got my Novice ticket in April of 1986. Got my Technician in July of '86, and then my General in June of '87. I was 13 when first licensed.

As far as radios, too many to keep track, but I'm currently short an HF outfit. Going to try to remedy that problem in the next few months.

My call is NW7US.

I was first licensed in 1990, as KA1VGL, and that was Technician Plus (meaning, I had to take a code test, and that gave me HF access, such as 10-meter voice - right when there were a lot of sunspots and 10 meters was amazing!).

When I moved to Montana, I upgraded to N7PMS (issued sequentially).  I grew tired of people making fun of my callsign, so when I lived in Washington state, I upgraded to Amateur Extra (yes, that included a code test).  I am now NW7US.

I am a member of ARRL, SKCC, FISTS, Century Club, and others.  I like CW (Morse code, actually), Olivia, and other digital modes.  I do like DXing, and some contesting.  I really enjoy the science of the Sun and the Sun-Earth connection, as well as radio signal propagation.  In 2001, I started to and still contribute to CQ Amateur Radio Magazine -- I am the contributing editor of the Propagation Column.  I also write the propagation and space weather column in The Spectrum Monitor (since its inception).  I run various space weather sites, like http://SunSpotWatch.com (since 1996; which I am overhauling this year), and https://blog.nw7us.us.  I have a YouTube channel - https://YouTube.com/NW7US

Thinking about taking the General and exploring HF as well.

First licensed 6 or 7 years ago. Got into it because I wanted to operate FPV drone video legally. Bought a baofeng and then upgraded to general and bought an FT-450D. Got a bunch of handhelds from baofeng, radioddity, Yaesu and Anytone, and also got an FT-857D and FT-817ND. Built a few kits, built an APRS station using a Pi running Xastir. Built a 2m tape measure Yagi and made an ISS contact with it by getting an APRS packet digipeated. Built one of the popular 9:1 EARCHI antennas and then later one of the EFHW 64:1 antennas with a tap at 49:1. Modded the FT-450D with an IF tap leading to a back panel SMA connector that I connect to an SDR for a click to tune panadapter. Got into DMR and got a Pistar up and running so I could listen but never found really active TGs so haven't messed with it in a while. I've got an old Heathkit amp in the garage that needs to be refurbished but that's a project that will have to wait a long time probably now.

All of this isn't stuff I figured out on my own, I'm just good at following instructions.

I thought I responded, but I can't find it., so it must have been a different thread.

Tech 1961 (actually 1960, see below) General 1967, Advanced 1976.

DXCC, WAS, WAC, all with 100W and a wire antenna.

ETA: I just found a Certificate of Membership in the Old Timers Club which says that I submitted evidence of being licensed in 1960, so even though I don't have my original license, I guess 1960 it must be. The 1961 date was based on finding me in old callbooks, and 1961 was the earliest listing I could find.
