I am on now but have not picked a spot.

I've got a little time to give it a shot.

Just noticed the replies. I can be in the shack in 10 minutes if anyone is interested.

I will be here - and on 80.

Ok. I'm heading to the shack then. Pick a frequency if you can and post it here, if you don't mind.

3.967 is clear here.

My antenna has too much SWR above 3910 kc. I don't use a tuner either.

[#9]
how about 3.831?
Link Posted: 8/8/2017 10:44:28 PM EDT
[#10]
Ok. I dug out the tuner. Will call CQ ARFCOM on that frequency.

A net just started up on 3830 - I'm looking for another frequency.

Just got yelled at on 3831. I was interfering with a net.

3806 sounds clear.

Ok. Will call CQ there. I'm W3P**

Noise level is at about S3 here. You are at just above noise level.
All I got is a lousy die-poles for 80 meters. I got a Yagi for 40 meters if you want to try that band.

40 should be better. 7204?

Sure. Let me switch and I'll call you.

Thanks for the QSO, Gyprat.  I enjoyed it and will try next week if possible.

It was nice talking to you.
I ended up staying for another hour on the frequency.  People just kept calling and calling. Had a small pileup going for a while,  LOL.
Let's try it again next week. Maybe more people will join.

For some reason, there is very little interest in SSB nets on this board. Most members prefer digital modes, for some reason I can't understand.

I'm with you, I don't understand it.  I haven't been on the Friday Echolink net in a while but it was going good for a while.

I would love to see a phone net on 20m or 40m on a regular basis.  I don't think too many are set up for 80m.

Echolink is clear and easy. Like cheating.

I'm one of those who really isn't setup for 80. While I can get the antenna match box to load my 40M OCFD w/ 100' of feedline its range is quite limited as its height is at 40'.

I would like to see a phone net up again.

We don't need 80m, 40 has had nice propagation lately.

Maybe we could start out on 20m then move up to 40m and then 80m?

I think we someone pretty central to host it.

We have decided to rename this net to a "Tuesday Night SSB Net". Like you said, maybe start on 20 meters and switch to 40 or 80 meters as needed.
Of course there will be some "dead zones" for some of us due to skip and close proximity but, in my opinion, this will be a good opportunity to practice our skills and to test antennas and equipment.

I would like to participate in this as well.  I find my biggest issue is getting caught up in the day to day, losing track of days/times.

Maybe if we had a ARFHAM List of those wanting to participate, someone could send a reminder earlier in the day on tuesday, either email or an @USER_ID message sent, we might create better participation?

Just a suggestion from a forgetful ARFHAM

Sweet! I will be home about 0115 Zulu.  Hopefully there is still some activity and that I can hear it here in Oregon

I can slightly here a signal, but can't make out any words.    Maybe it will get better as it gets later.  Or someone is going to have to point their beam my direction.
