Got some pallet racking, they loaded onto my trailer with a forklift, I took it off with my forks on the FEL:

Got two of four sections up:

Got the other sections up and started loading it with tractor implements:

Another pic:

I originally wanted to put the tractor 3ph implements on the bottom sections, but the shelf is too high and the 3ph won't go that far up.  Too much trouble to use the forks all the time, so I'll just use it for the FEL implements; the FEL can load them directly.  The rest of the sections are to hold saw milled wood; the first batch of which I'll be getting later today.

Obligatory scenic shot:

Thanks for looking!

FINALLY got my lathe and mill moved into the basement shop. There's no real road to the basement door, and the two-track trail I made is steeper than it looks. My Kubota L3901 with forks could easily move my lathe and mill on the relatively level ground of my gravel drive, but on the trail, all that weight on the forks combined with the less than smooth terrain kept lifting a rear wheel off the ground.

The mill I made lighter by pulling off the head, but after a couple of failed attempts with the lathe, I had to build a sled and get it up that way. There's always a way to get the job done if you keep chopping away at it! The sled has actually proved pretty useful, and I employed it to haul a big pile of scrap lumber away to where it's out of sight.

I've already machined a few simple little parts that I was in need of. Sure is nice to have that capability back!

This might be my old IH 1086's last job.  I'm thinking about putting it up for sale to get a skid loader.  Something like a Bobcat 763 with a bucket and a snowblower.  I really have no reason to have a big turbo diesel tractor.  I only use it for clearing snow and moving wood.

Too bad that's a pinned on bucket:  You need a grapple.

Should be purchase #1 after the skid loader.  You'll love it for lifting and moving logs!

Our 9620T is in the process of getting some new treads. Considering you could literally see daylight through the old set, it was time .

I sourced the tracks and our local JD shop is putting them on it for us since they have all the correct tools, jacks, etc. to do it safely. Should be finished with it today, then it will go from shop straight to our cultivator to start turning dirt to try and warm it up some. Been hard to get excited to plant corn given the cold we've had.

Got my saw milled wood yesterday.  My nephew came over and helped me unload and restack it on my pallet racking.  I pay him in wood since he's a new wood worker.

About 457 bd ft of wood, maybe 2200-2300 lbs or so.  The only thing missing is the large Black Walnut beam that destroyed a $40 saw mill blade (more about that later).

Black Walnut top; Black Cherry lower left and Sweet Gum lower right.

The Black Walnut beam; note the partial cut on the left.

The saw blade destroyer:

The Sweet Gum turned out looking nice.  My sawyer normally doesn't mill Sweet Gum but he did this one.

Three guesses as to what this is (the silver dots):

Black Cherry bottom and middle rack.  Note how little we could get on the lower rack due to the upright cross braces.

From top to bottom:  Black Walnut spiked beam, Sweet Gum and then milled Black Walnut:

Black Walnut boards out of the spiked Black Walnut:

Thanks for looking!

I think the top should be covered to protect from rain and snow and direct sun, sides open to dry. I just cut down there, and am going to fork it up under my open sided woodshed

Tracks spread the weight of the machine out much better than wheels do. Less compaction of the soil, lessons time with a plow vs a disc.

At least thats why we used them so many years ago.

New property we just bought last fall. Another 64 acres.

Spreading the winters worth of manure. About 60-70 tons. Then going to reset it into hay.

Might even build a house out here some day. Not sure yet. Depends on if the property next to the main farm comes up for sale.

Last weekend, tilled up a 5000 sq ft garden with the 1025R. Got it broken up OK. We have clay-ish soil here. Last Friday, we had 18yds of mushroom compost mix delivered and I spent Friday night moving that around and tilling that into the soil.

Tractors not pictured:

Missing is all the yellow iron. 3 excavators, 2 skidloaders, 5 bulldozers, a backhoe, etc.

That is the thinking behind it, mainly to reduce compaction, also tracks are generally better in wet conditions.

Started planting corn on Saturday, our planter has been running well other than a seed tube sensor that took a shit.

I tried working it out with the bucket but got scared, there's a water line I put down there last fall. Finally getting around to finish the dirt work and I'm really hoping I don't have a leak that caused the mud pit.

Everywhere else along the trench was pretty dry....

Got delivered yesterday. Didn’t have time to send one of my trucks to go get it.  So had a friend haul it in.

Full service.

Already ordered new shoes for it.

Got a few small things to fix.  Gonna have the rear fenders repainted and buff the hood.

Nice tractor.  We have a lot of red paint on the farm.   I brought home our first green tractor last week.  We've had a JD 750 drill for a long time.  I got tired of being 15ft wide and planting a lot of beans and wheat at what felt like a snail pace so I upgraded to a Great Plains 2N-3010 to go with it.
