After I got the transmission in I had to move the truck over so I could work on a floor pan.  No driveshaft and no pedals (would be in way of floor pan repair) so the ol' B came thru again.

I've followed your guys' thread for awhile, and I think I'm ready to join the club!  My brand new Kubota B2650 with cab just came in today!  Yeah I know, I should have bought an L series, but I only have 5 acres and the B is going to be just fine for me!  I've been blowing snow for years with an old JD and no cab and I'm sick of freezing my ass off in the ND winters!!

I can't pick it up for about a month yet because I'm having some add-on's installed, but once I get it, I'll post Picts!!

Add on's include quick detach skid steer type bucket, brand new blower, new pallet forks, and I added a few hydraulic ports that need to be installed.  Excited to finally join your guys thread!

Nice!

I have a BX23 I bought used about three years ago. Great little tractor, but recently I've been wishing I had one size bigger. B series is what I'd like. I still want to run a mid-mount mower and have the FEL and backhoe. Been watching Craigslist for used deals (that's where I got my BX), but the B series seem to be pretty rare in comparison.

Looking forward to the pics.

It's been wet here lately, luckily it hasn't been bad enough to keep us from picking corn (not without leaving a few ruts in a spot or two ).

We could use a couple of dry weeks so we can get beans cut.

Just a 110, a little older than the one we had growing up. This one is a '79 I think ours was a '81 or '82.

Plastic and tires are nice anyway.  Probably will rebuild the engine over the winter.

We have plenty, mostly does and younger bucks around our ground. 5-10 miles away on the river bottoms there are nice bucks. Biggest racks I see, other than the occasional 8-10 pointer, are on the equipment .

Cleaned and scraped the goat pen, increased the driveway width about 5 feet.  That's what my wife did this weekend. Tomorrow 10 yards of 3/4 minus is being delivered, so I am sure she will be spreading that when i get home.

I was moving stuff around with the ol' B and noticed my wife raking the yard to fill those big pumpkin bags with leaves for Halloween.  I had an idea so when I got done I latched on to my rake and dragged it out of the weeds, threw some grease at it, oil on the big flat chain and put it in gear and gave it a try.  For an archaic four bar rake it didn't do half bad really.

So now she has a big windrow in the yard to scoop into her bags.  Might be kind of wrong but I am hoping they blew around so I can rake them again... I love raking.

My rake is just so weird I love it.  It came with my place, only piece of International equipment I own.  I don't know much about it but someone mentioned it is from the F-20 era... so 1930's maybe into the 40's.  I raked hay with it the first year I got my place before we put it into rowcrop and it worked great.

Reworked my backstop on Monday.  Pushed it back about 30' and more than tripled the width.  I need to dig up some more dirt to increase the height and make the wings a little longer.  Will give me almost 180 deg of safe shooting

The 2018 Firewood Wars have started!  Yesterday, I started bucking up one of my pile of trees I'll be processing this year for firewood.  I have three piles in my firewood processing area plus two power company take-down trees down at the bottom of my hill.

Pics of the bucking using my tractor grapple and MS-362CM or MS-180 Stihl chainsaws.

A blow-down from next to my driveway that came down a couple days ago.  Anyone know what kind of tree this is?

Its broken trunk:

A medium sized Red Oak:

This pic shows one of the many advantages to using a tractor grapple to buck trees:  The ability to buck while standing straight up with no bending.

Most of the trees were this size.  A couple small Black Walnuts and at least two Locusts.  Here's one of the Locusts:

The results of yesterday's work.  Note the pile of Red Oak the grapple is sitting on; that's the 2nd pile I need to work on.  Note the big log in front of the tractor:  I am not going to like moving that monster around!

And while I was working, one of the local safety inspectors showed up to critique my work.  I took three pics of it but it only showed up in one pic since the camera was focusing on the tractor in the near foreground vs.  the "inspector" in the far back ground.  Here's the best pic I have of her.  You can see it's legs in the small patch of sunlight just to the right of the big pine on the left.  Sharp eyes will see my Taj Mahal Mk III shooting house as well.

Thanks for looking!

Yes, there were no leaves on the other end.  The wood near the trunk break was white and punky looking; while the upper wood was very clear, orange in color and appeared to be good wood.  Except for the wood color, based on the bark, I thought it was another Hackberry.

Thanks,

I use my excavator like that.  Makes bucking so much easier when you're not bending over. Especially when using a larger saw.  Also really helps limbing a tree out.

Yes that's a RR.  It works very well - as a part of weight block for my Box Blade.  As a RR?  I've used it once in 4 years.  On the other hand, the Piranha bar lives on my FEL bucket.

We finished cutting beans a couple of days ago. 150 acres of corn to pick and 2018 harvest is done, still have tillage and cover crops to get done though.

Depends on a few variables, but we can get 100-120 acres a day. Assuming no breakdowns and trucks keep up.

All about keeping the combine moving, easier said than done some days.

A little bit of cleaning and reorganizing before winter.  I'm hoping to get the old baja car into the shop this winter to rebuild a few parts.  First I need to build the loft to make a bit more room in there.  But at least with the forks it's easy to set the car in the storage shed until I'm ready for it.

Tis firewood season.  I have several totes already logged up and a pile of 10ft logs about 10ft high and 10+ feet thick.  So splitting a few totes today.

My little new Holland TN60 sitting on the side with forks. My 1961 D6B up front.  It's completely restored.  I just rebuilt the electrical system in it over the summer.  New generator and regulator.

Just a cheap one from Amazon, but it's held up for 2 years now and is plenty bright.  I added the light bar and rear spot lights for snowblowering because I either end up doing it at 4 am before work, or at 6 pm when I get home.  Either way it's in the dark.  But on the plus side, the bugs don't bother me when it's -15 and windy!

Amazon Product
  • Senlips 22inch 120W Light Bar includes 40pcs 3Watt high quality LEDs, delivering 8800Lumens and 6000k bright cool white light, lighting up the dark road for you.
  • Work with Wiring Harness, which allow you control the light bar wirelessly.
  • IP 67 waterproof standard protects your light bar from leaking. Die cast aluminum housing gives your light bar a polished look and wide working temperature(-40°C~85°C)

Amazon Product
  • SUPER BRIGHT SPOT BEAM: High-quality LED chips emits bright white light; Concentrated spot beam illuminates to further distance and lumen is 1260LM
  • ADJUSTABLE MOUNTING BRACKET: The pod can be adjusted to about 45 degrees, which makes changing direction of light beam easier.
  • BETTER HEAT DISSIPATION: Special designed die-cast aluminum alloy cooling fins effectively extend the lifespan to over 30,000 hours.

If you have an iPhone you can e mail it to yourself and select small, medium, large or actual size when you send it.  I have to do it for almost ever picture I post on here.  I just select large and that usually gets the size down small enough to post.

If you edit it it will also get rid of the "live" size, I get the fine pen and put a single black dot on it.  Usually gets them down to 1 or under.
