Ordered 5 more for a total of 15 . This will be a great addition to my 100+ cans of mountain house.

I just ordered 5 and it was $50 with $4.74 for taxes,
Free shipping. They must be serious about the 5 package limit for the deal. |
I just ordered 2 and got free shipping. Thanks for bringing this thread back to the top, I was meaning to order but never did.
Also put one of those sterno folding stoves in my amazon cart. |
I got 2. Tossed them into camping supplies. I need to order more mountain house.
I ordered 10, came to exactly $100, no tax or shipping charges. Thanks, OP!
Ordered more...lol
Now we need a deal on water pouches and some meal bars |
Ordered 5...received the same packaging as the OP. They are much bigger than I was expecting.
Good stuff. I might order 5 more after xmas. |
Accidentally added five to the cart.. twice. Guess you can order 10 even though it says limit five. Finally stuff I’ll eat other than the black bean shit, but the wife will love that.
The $10 package deal is still listed on the website. (at least when I used the original link)
I was able to use the link in the OP and ordered 5 of the 72 hour kits. I used PayPal but hopefully I have the same results as the rest of the folk that got them pretty quick.
Mine arrived the other day. A little slow, but the holidays and all. Will order more in a month if they are still offering the deal.

After reading all the positives on this, I had to grab 5 as well!
Has anyone tried the 4 week kit yet? |
Have some of this from a couple years ago. Finally actually trying some.
Blue Ribbon Creamy Chicken and Rice. 490 calories per serving, 4 per pouch. Attached File Resealable 4 serving pouch: Attached File Step 1... Attached File Boil 4.25 cups of water, whisk in mix, simmer on low for 20 minutes... Attached File So the rice was still a bit tough after 20 minutes. Tasted ok, especially if you're hungry. Actual meat, chicken/bacon/whatever, cheese, hot-sauce etc. might add some depth to the flafor. It's certainly edible come SHTF. Not a dinner pic... That is, uh, two servings... /fatty. That said, one to 1.5 servings is decently filling. Attached File |

Sodium out the wazoo!
is there a better option or is that the nature of this kind of food? |

Haven't compared, however here is a thread that breaks down Mountain House. I don't know how current the data is however.
https://www.ar15.com/forums/outdoors/Mountain-House-Breakdown/18-693926/ Mountain House doesn't seem to have anything similar to that table that I've found thus far. Stumbled across that looking for info on when it's best to buy MH. I seem to recall they have annual sales, but it's been a while since I've paid attention to such. |
Ordered another 5 today. Actually got burned on an Amazon order of Mountain House for the 4 day kits (shipped from China and fake). So decided to order more of these to throw in bags.
Has anyone bought the 4 week kit for $167? If so, what do you think of them? I'm thinking about grabbing a couple.
I bought 10 of the 72 hour kits. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. They take a lot of water and need to be cooked. I thought they were freezedried like Mountain house. It would be just as easy to assemble the same kit from the grocery store using Kraft mac&cheese and bags of powdered soup mix. At least that way you can put in what you like.

I don't see a problem with the extra salt. First, salt has been used as a preservative for thousands of years. Secondly, in an emergency, especially a SHTF situation, you will experience a lot more physical activity and exertion and you will need the extra salt to replace what you sweat out. I'm putting these up for temporary use in an emergency, not living off them every day.
Wow, this deal is still going? I went ahead and ordered another $50 to squirrel away.

If you save that link it will work for a while. I used an older one and ordered off it for a year plus. Their stuff is not freeze dried, it actually has to be cooked. I originally got several packs years ago and actually use them when hunting. More chowder than soup they are pretty good for what they are. If you have some other food stuffs available they work well as a base and are easy to spice up. They are a really good supplement to basic everyday food storage and rotation. A bunch of these along with storing/ rotating what you eat or use on a regular basis is good way to add some extra long term storage calories. I also add a few cases of MRE to round out my storage.
I have an average plastic tote full of them and some MTN house. I ordered 5 more packs and will rotate out some of my older storage and use them up... Thanks OP! |
Deal is still on apparently. Just ordered 5.
Not as convenient to prepare as MH pouches, but this deal is a decent price. I understand the potato soup is decent as is the one I tried above. Not great and it would get old, but if you're hungry it'll work. Just need a pot, water and heat. I think it would be good to have some source of meat and other additions , canned, freeze-dried, or fressh to add variety. |
I tried the Mac and cheese and the potato soup. Both are pretty good.
Picked up 4 for $40 free shipping no tx.... good heads up guys, thanks!
Just ordered 5 with free shipping and only $1 tax
Going to order 5 every month until the deal expires Thanks OP |
I should probably unsubscribe from this thread. Just fent for 10 more.
I wish they would change it up to a breakfast 3 day total or something
Ordered the freeze dried fruit and some other stuff. Checking out their website spotted they have a 10% military discount, just need to be a Vet with verification, used my USAA card for verification.
Ordered 5 cause you never know. It can be a good give-away item in an emergency for someone who needs it.
Order placed Saturday arrived this afternoon.
Very pleased with everything, will order more next week if the deal is still going |
