I am looking to get into the precision shooting field, and have a Rem 700 in an AICS chassis.
Looking for glass now. Right now I have a SWFA 16x scope mounted up (came with the rifle) but am looking for something a bit better.
I have a $1000 budget, as I also want to buy my suppressor at/around the same time.

I have in the past used the PST series, and had no problems with them. Through the shop I work at, I get 20% off of them, so I would get the 6-24 FFP for about $760
Any other optics to look for? I "prefer" FFP, but am not stuck on it if I can get a scope that is that much better for the money.

Home built ar15 and Vortex viper. That's about as far as you'll get.

I already have the gun.....trued and blueprinted 700 AAC SD in an AICS stock.

I would look for something used.  You should be able to find a good Bushnell around $1,000.  

Look into the Bushnell line of tactical scopes.  A lot of bang for you buck.  They have a lot of good choices now, so I'll let you do the legwork.

I've got three Elite 4xxx scopes from Bausch & Lomb and Bushnell and they've all been rock solid for up to 15 years, for not a lot of cash.

Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 EMDR

Take a look at the Bushy DMR 3x21 with G2 reticle. Liberty Optics or CS Tactical should be able to get you out the door for under $1200. It's one of the best scope values you can find.

Ended up with one of these. LOVE the optic. Just wish it was illuminated and had zero stops. Oh well!
