Got 5 loads to play with to see how rifle and ammo can do, these are avaliable locally.
24" 1/8 twist, what would you start with ?
Edit to add:
This is a target rifle, not for hunting, will be shooting to 1000yds

Did you already buy one of each?  If so just shoot them and see what it likes.  The 120 or 129 wouldn't be my first choice.  If you want to shoot factory, I would suggest also trying the Prime ammo.  The eld-x projectile is supposed to perform well as a hunting projectile, versus just being a match projectile, at a little higher price.  I have shot a ton of deer with .30 cal match bullets and never really had a problem though.  Haven't tried the 6.5 on deer yet, hopefully this year.  I know you aren't hunting with it, just throwing extra info out there.

I shot factory 140gr amax and prime when virgin brass was scare.

Start with the 140 match loads of you are going to 1,000. Iirc, the 120's will get there but suffers much more in the wind.

Fwiw, I picked up a 6.5C just before the end of our deer season. Sighted it in with the eldx load and shot a deer the next day. Accuracy and performance was perfect.

The 140gr Hornady is supposed to be some of the best factory match ammo for it.  The 143gr ELD-X is fairly new so I haven't seen much on it but its supposed to be very good.  I have some of both but havent put them through there paces yet.

Let us know how it goes.

140 ELDM with the Winchester a close second.

Keep the 143 ELD-X for hunting - out to 600yds it will be damned close to the ELD-M 140's.

Shoot the rest for getting zero, barrel break in, cold bore shots when you need a burner before shooting groups or after cleaning the bore.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions, I ordered some prime this morning and gonna grab a few more boxes of the 140ELD match.
If the Winchester does well, they have a small stack of it in stock.
I will post pics when I can.

Edit:
Hope my rifle likes the Prime, just paid $18 in shipping for 3 boxes

My 1/8, 26", 6.5 cm, likes the 140 ELD and 143 "Hunter" about the same. It has been very windy every time out with the 6.5 so far though. This weekend is out, probably the week after as well. It could be February before I get to shoot rifles again.

Has anyone tried the new Hornady 147 ELD-M for the 6.5 creedmoor? Have had great success with the 140 ELD-M this past summer.

I started with the 140gr ELD-M

Well I took the afternoon off and the sighting in went great.
I started with the 143 ELD-X just because it was a full box, 5 shots and it was on @ 100.
Switched to 140 ELDM and only needed 1click up.

Had a rough ballistic table I printed at work using factory mv and guess at scope height.
Said to come up 10.5 @500, gave it 10.5 and ting, ting, ting on the steel, 3 shots and 3 hits.
Couldnt see my group as assholes hadn't painted in a while.
Really like this 6.5

Will reach out further when I have more daylight.

Regarding the new 147 ELD M, Hornady e-mailed me back and said shipping now, look for it in 2-3 days.
They said Midway should have it by then.

I wouldn't mess with any of those other than the 140 ELD.

I had a buddy try some of the win and his ES was about 120.

I would use the ELD 140s and not waste my time with the rest.

I have handloaded the 147 ELD-M and it's a very accurate bullet and when the weather breaks some I will try it out to 1020. People I have spoke to says the .697 BC holds true to 1230 yards. I am getting them to 2825fps in a 27" barrel. I would like to try the factory 147 load but for now I will stick with the factory 140 ELD as it shoots great out of my rifles.

Why would you try or even mess with a 120gr AMAX (not withstanding that is discontinued) when that weight is inferior to the 140gr (ELD-M) for long distance shooting?

Once I get the 130's or 140's dialed in, I will get a different zero for the 120's and use em for hog sniping.
I won't let em go to waste.

Ok, totally agree.  I thought you were giving preference.   I also recommended using them for breakin, initial zero, cold bore shots before groups, etc.

I have shot the 140 ELDs out to 1285 with great success. Looking forward to trying the 147s. Haven't seen any on the shelf locally yet. I think Midway has some though.
