I have never been happy with the results I've gotten from RL-17.

I've heard of others trying it but most are getting great results with IMR 4451

My 6.5 creedmoor loves RL17. I can get the same performance as H4350 with less powder used. Am still testing H4350 but for now, RL-17 is my go to powder. Haven't tried RL16 that came out earlier this year. That will be my next test.

K thx, was about to pick up a lb to try but ill just skip it. 4451 was decent for me. I have my bullets seated long, stuffed 42.5gr under a 130gr eld and got 2850fps good accuracy. Cratering started at 43grains. Which was almost completely full. Very compressed
40.7 under a 140 hybrid gave me 2680fps great load but a little slow. Slightly compressed.
Going to h4350 now

Where are you guys funding H4350?

for what it's worth, I've had good luck with AA4350. Running it with Berger 130gr in my creedmoor

Its around but you're going to pay for it @ $215/8lb.

I made the jump to 4451 and don't miss 4350 at all.

130/140 in 6.5CM.

Ive found the 4451 works much better in the creedmoor.
In the lapua however, i just used 40 grains of 4350, tested for seating deapth and found a 1/4 moa 5 shot group node at 5 and 8 thousandths off so i split it at 6. Velocity at 2750 from 24" tube and no pressure signs at all.
Super pleased, i doubt i will ever try anything else in my 6.5x47 again for these 140 eld
Also ive noticed powder rings around the outside of the necks, should i anneal?
And there is several thousandths of base to ogive difference between loaded rounds. Im chalking that up to hornady eld bullets tolerances?
I use a forster co ax press and there is a little wiggle in the die, could that be it?
And i just payed 340$ for 10 more lbs...
26 lbs should last me a bit
Selway...

If you're getting consistent 1/4 MOA performance, I wouldn't touch a damn thing about your loading program.
