I got interested in benchrest shooting at my local club. The distance is 100 yards and I'm shooting a Savage heavy barrel rifle in 6mm BR. The 14X scope I have on it is not good enough for the 1/2" bull on the target. Leupold makes a 35X44 mm scope in fixed power.  Anyone have experience with these scopes? Price point is around $1000.

excellent scope for the money.  At 100 yards it will be awesome from the bench.  Only drawback is that its a fixed power and if you ever shoot longer distances and have mirage you can't dial down the magnification when needed.

I know many bench rest guys that use them.

I use one on a metallic silhouette .22lr rifle (we stand up and shoot that offhand to 100m). Great stuff for the experienced shooter. Exit pupil is tiny and they're very hard to get behind. Once you're mounted to it it's fine but can be fun getting NPOA if the gun isn't properly fitted to you. Be sure you're pointed at the right target. You usually won't be able to see more than just one of your targets through the thing so it's easy to crossfire.
