Lefty here.   I've got 2 GAP built 700's, and starting a 3rd.

If I were starting from scratch?  LH SA Surgeon action.

The only smart lefty is the one that learners to do things as a righty.  Besides, back in the Middle Ages they killed lefty kids cause it was a sign of the devil.

I bought the Remington 700 action from Brownells and had a local smith assemble. It is a 308.

Nice rifle. No worries on the right hand crap.

I'm right handed with a left dominate eye and the only left handed rifle I own is a WBY Accumark in .300 Wby.  This gun messes with me since it is backwards and I am use to shooting on my left with bolts on right.

Same here, but don't own a left handed rifle of any kind. I find that I am much faster running things right handed rather than fumbling around on the left side of a rifle or shotgun !

I would like to be all in at 2,800.00. Most of that being spent on the rifle. Then upgrade the glass after comfortable with the gun. A couple choices I'm looking at right now.
Chassis  790.00
Action  1,300.00
Barrel is still under research any suggestion would be great.

+1 on using a right-handed rifle.

I jumped on my buddy's gun on the range, last time.  It's nice to have reflexes that're universal.

I am left handed, but I have both left and right handed rifles (I shoot just as bad with either one....)

I have a couple of Remington 700's that are left handed. This one is an LSS (Laminated stainless steel) in .30-06:

This one is a VS (Varmint Synthetic) in .308:

I was also looking to get into the 6.5 CM as well, but left handed versions are few and far between, so I ended up going with a Ruger American Predator:

Same here, currently looking for a 6.5 Creedmore.  Think I have looked at most everything.  Really want a GA Precision, but not willing to wait for a custom build.  Surgeon would do if I could find one.  Desert Tech SRS-A1 looks interesting and there are a few available, not ready to make that jump just yet to a bull pup.

My mother grew up in Catholic schools where writing lefty was rewarded with a ruler to the knuckles. She's ambidextrous because of it. Not only can she write with both hands, but it's almost impossible to tell the difference. Her handwriting is the same with both hands.

I'm a public school kid so am a straight up lefty.
