So I recently bought an AICS 1.5 chassis for my Savage 10. It came with the pistol grip style skins. I always liked the classic AI thumbhole look, so I bought the conversion kit. Apparently AI changed the color of their green in the last year and now my rifle is two different colors. Would this bother anyone else or am I being too picky? Obviously this has no effect on function and is purely aesthetic. See the links for pictures.

So you bought at (mostly) same time and store had old stock?
Have you contacted AICS? Maybe they can swap you for the right color.... Plastic pellet colors drift a tiny bit between batches, but that looks like deliberate color change to me. Of course you can piss can camo it all and ruin the nice clean look of that sexy rifle too...

The Savage chassis is discontinued and the older darker color. The thumbhole kit just came back in stock and is a lighter sage green. I was told by Europtic that AI made the change about a year ago.

The rifle was made to shoot, not be a work of art. Does it shoot well?

I agree that is was made to shoot. It can be a work of art as well (at least kinda match). It's new, so haven't shot it yet. (Work a lot, shoot very little!)

So after a few days back and forth with AI, they managed to track down a full set of dark earth skins. Will put up some updated pictures when they show up.

@kavants, not being picky at all. I went the other direction...
Ordered the AT back end, and it showed up a different green. I removed all 6 pieces and had em dipped. Granted you found FDE, but if you are interested I have the old thumb hole rear set around here somewhere. PM me.
