A few of my relatives have recently moved to bear country where they could be seeing bears on a weekly basis, says the neighbors, and of course a gun isnt a option because they are so dangerous he
A link to a site with the perfect stuff would probably make my week.

I hiked on the AT several years ago and we had black bear in our camp several times (within 4' of my 2 man tent).  You really need a few cans of bear OC carried by different people in your hiking party, just in case you stumble upon a bear unexpectedly!

PS
Don't forget to also hang your food and/or trash in a tree far away from your camp so you don't bring the bear into the tent with you!
