I have an opportunity to hunt private land that a friend of a friend owns that has nuisance hogs on it. They have not been hunted, and the owner is going to show us exactly where the hogs travel. I would like to hunt them with rifled slugs from a smooth bore. What do you guys think?
I have never been hog hunting before.

Either one will be just fine.....just hit them right behind the ear and it will be lights out.....

I will let you know in Jan. My father and I are going on a hunt the second week of the new year. He will be using his Remington 760 30-06, and I will be using my Winchester 1300.

Slug, although 30'06 will allow for longer shots
