Bought me a single burner tank top propane heater today, its one of the ones that mount on top of a 20lb tank. I am going to mostly use it to heat my attached garage... garage isnt very big so I am hoping this will take the chill off in the winter? Any one have one and how do you like it?

I have a single burner for my park tank that I use when I smoke in the garage in the winter. It works ok, I have a two car garage in Oklahoma, it heats me standing over it and not much more.

ok, I have a single car so should do what I am asking it too. Bought it at Lowes for a decent price so I guess we'll see. Now just need to score more propane tanks.

The one I bought looks like this. but it says that it can be used in doors for " construction" sites... so im guessing as long as I have some ventalation I should be good.

They're great as long as you're not in a small sealed space.
For a really good deal check out Wal-Mart in the spring when they do their clearances. I picked up a double burner Propane space heater like the one previously shown and a 23,000 btu kerosene space heater which came in handy last week when I had some work done on my furnace. Oh, I paid $48.00 for the propane heater, and $78.00 for the Kerosene heater. At least 40% off on each one.

Ditto for Home Depot and Lowe's. Towards the end of the season, they tend to have huge, unadvertised discounts on remaining inventory.

^^^^  Ditto on that.  I had one but took it back because it really was not suitable for an enclosed space.

Coleman sells catalytic heaters that are okay for enclosed areas.  They are nowhere near as powerful as those tank top heaters, but you won't die from carbon monoxide or lack of oxygen.

If the box says, "Not For Indoor Use", don't do it.  If it does not specifically say it's okay for indoors, don't do it.

BTW, from the link above, and I quote Cabel's ad, "Outdoor use only."

Yea the box this says for outdoor and indoor use. The one in the link is not the one I bought. I bought mine at lowes but when I went to thier site I could only find the double. I have a kerosene heater as well but I tell you what, I have a little buddy heater that I use and I love that thing... I am guessing that I will like the tank top one I just got. I am thinking propane is the way to go...
