thanks for the congrats guys as you can imagine i am hooked.  we arrived saturday morning at 10 am.  we spread some corn at 3 locations, and then we fished a pond and pitched tent.  we hit the blinds at 5 pm and i encountered this one around 6:10 pm.  my cousin later shot a hog that he said was twice as big as this one, but he must of missed with his 30.06.  he said it was about 30 yrds from him.  i'm thinking it was to close for his 6-14 x scope. thats what i think. but we had a blast camping out .

That shot is more difficult than it looks.  Very small kill zone at 100+ yards.   Congratulations!

its actually about 25 minutes south of san antonio tx. just outside of pleasanton.  i actually gave it to the land owner.  my bro wanted to cut off a leg and bbq it but i don't know a damn thing about skinning and cutting up a pig or javenlina.  i stuck to my chopped ham sandwich.   a friend later told me that javelina aren't good to eat.  the shot took place just after 6pm.

what ammo would you guys recommend for hog.  i'm thinking of winchester 64gr.super x pp or the federal premium 60 gr. vital shock.  do you think this would do the job as long as i do mine?

my bro and i went today to leave more feed at the feeders and look for tracks.  i took my range finder and the shot was actually 141 yards to the feeder.  we staked and marked  every 100 yards up to 300 yards cuz my bro wants to try out his 7 mm magnum.
