Late fall/early winter for the garlic. Just depends on your area and weather. I've fall planted both types. Can't help you on the late season spuds and onions. |

At the beginning of the year, I was trying really hard to get everything timed right and whatnot. Then it rained for 3 months without stopping and I didn't get my first time garden tilled from grass until May, so now I'm just trying stuff: planting whatever, whenever, and wherever. Next year I may know the answer to your question empirically ;)
