Simple question really, but one I've never been able to figure out.
Why will one jelly set up solid and the other be liquid enough to drink.
Bad pectin? Screwy seals?
My mom used to have batches that would not set. I don't know that she ever figured out quite why.
We would use the runny stuff as syrup on pancakes sometimes.
Kind of like the ketchup she made once based on her mother's recipe. Had to be the worst ketchup ever, but was pretty good as spaghetti sauce.
