Who would be interested in having a 20m Thursday night net?
I would be happy to be net control/relay station on a certain week. If interested please let me know in this thread. |
MIght be interesting to try and run an ARMCOM WAS net, collecting QSL cards with member numbers.
Another game to play on the radio.... |
I would be interested once I get my dipole up, hopefully in the next week or two.
8 in the first 12 hrs or so. Pretty darn good I would say.
Now the important question: What time does the hive say for the "Net" to start? Looks like it's mostly east of the Mississippi river stations. However, we don't want to leave our fellow members out, that are west of the Mississippi. |
I'm in. It was a lot of fun to have a long QSO with ghst and make a few other ARFcom contacts last night. An ARFcom WAS would be pretty sweet as well.
Anytime starting 2030 EST or after works best for me. |
What frequency? 2100 ET (1900) is not good in this part of the Mountain Time Zone....I have 2 other nets at exactly that same time, one HF 80m and one on 2m, both of these are nightly 365 even over the big holidays!
Definately not on Tuesday night 440 net at 1830 MT, same 2m net at 1900 MT, same HF 80m at 1900 MT, THEN a second 2m/440 net (linked repeaters) at 2000 MT! Net busy around this neck of the woods!! Sarge |
Quoted: Later maybe 2130 est. Gotta get the kids in bed... This would be my preference too, and still a little early for the west coast guys. |
So does the majority agree on 2130 EST?
I am going to try to figure out a freq, come up with a possiable Net Preamble, and try to come up with a roster of Net Control Stations sometime over the new few days. Question 2, who would like to be Net Control? |
As a west coaster the proposed time is doable. I will make it a point to try and check in when I can, which should be often. This will also give me incentive to clean/finish up my 20M antenna situation.
I will be able to check in every other week. I have obligations every other Thursday as it is.

Great idea! I'll check in on Thurs night once I get my station up and running. Should have it off the ground in two to three weeks. Only passed the General today  BTW I'm grateful for a suggestion of an ARFCOM net that doesn't require an 80m dipole for participation. Some of us new guys don't yet have that kind of real estate to put up a resonant antenna on the lower bands.

Will have a better antenna up in a week or two but have wire will transmit.
I can try to be on in about 30 min. Heading home in just a few.
Yeah pick one my radio is analog so easier for me to try and find you.
Still stuck at the office (since 7a). Sorry, thought I'd be long gone by now...
Quoted: Heading to bed maybe catch you another time. Sorry dude. I'm still in the office for at least another hour or so due to complications. Good thing I don't need to be back here until 6:30a Friday to cover for the hourly guys . It pays the bills, so end of complaining. </vent> I was really hoping to make it on the air tonight. Apologies for ejecting on you guys... -Slice |

Sorry guys that I couldn't make it. The soon to be ex-wife wanted to talk about a few things. I was tied up dealing with her and her crap. Needless to say I should've been playing radio.
I hope everyone had fun without me there. |

I just saw this one this afternoon. I'm game to try it out next week.
I'm down like a fat kid on a cupcake.
Whereabout what frequency?

I'm around - what frequency? Standing by on 14.340. Call CQ arfcom and if I hear you I'll answer. |
Well crap, I can hear a K0 station talking to someone else, but you guys aren't hearing me
I hear you, some deep fading on the bands tonight. You were S2, then up to S7, then back to S3.
Sorry JC, don't think I can take temporary Net Control as you're the only station I've been able to copy so far, except for parts of the MI station. :) Can't hear anyone else, which shows the power of the bands, since I had a nice QSO with BigDaddy recently and I heard you say he's in here.
ok, I'm starting up the radio - where y'all at
wow 14.290 has a BEAUTIFUL sounding station running AM...... oh wow it's like music.....
JC thanks for stepping up as net control. You were solid 55 into NH. Nice to see the 7 or 8 check-ins although conditions seemed a little tough. That's still way better than the 80M net!

I can hear ya'll there, can make out maybe 10% copy, increasing slightly. If this keeps up maybe I can check in.
